I call this song "the project managers lament"... I used to listen to it on the cd in the truck when I was returning home after a tough construction project in a unfriendly place. I'm a person of color and often had to work across the country building retail stores in places where they did not care much for a black project manager. I love building, but it's people crushed my heart with rejection. I always changed songs to fit my reality. I have written many poems about rejection and the resentment I have felt my entire life for that rejection. I appreciate your voice bringing these classics to life for me in a new way. I still listen with lots of tears as a 53 year old. The good news 30 years of saving my money because there were no friends to spend it with, I donated 45 acres and am in the process of building a college of Agriculture & Technology for those from underserved communities to learn how to redevelop the broken communities they come from. In discovering these recordings you put down so long ago, I find healing. What's interesting is that it's been difficult as those I reach out to for help, still reject me. They wonder what business a fellow who never went to college is doing trying to build a college. I listen to you and I realize it's possible even if I'm drowning. Thx again for inspiring.
