    Thanks for having this video, I have made some mistakes on my fretboard exactly as you said I sanded the wood instead of the nut. I do like working on my own stuff tho. Thanks for sharing your knowledge sir. I’m subscribed!

    The high E string buzz has been a headache! I will try it for sure, finally I found the solution. I don't wanna get rid of my Dean for such matter
    Thanks again!

      Not a problem my friend. Yeah you can fix just about any guitar and make it playable how you want it. I hope this helped.

    Thanks.. i never actually thought of using aluminum foil. I've been playing on floyd rose guitars most of my whole life of 41 years. and just now coming across a this particular issue. "only at the first fret, only the high e string" on my Peavey Tracer. It's just gotten wore out. I'm sure this will work. I just wanted to thank you for educating me on it FIRST. And yes I feel like a jackass for cranking on the truss rod a 100 times before realizing this. I didn't hurt it though..

      Thats funny. I think we have all cranked on a truss rod at one point or another. Yeah the string...especially the high E after a will groove the nut just enough to cause it to buzz on the first fret.

    Good stuff, and I totally agree with you - do the setup yourself, it's usually not rocket science!

      Thanks man. It is not rocket science but so many people I know are afraid to even touch their guitar except to play it. Baffling.

    What kinda Ibanez is that?

    • @TraceTaylor3
      @TraceTaylor3  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      This is the Ibanez 1120. They made this specific one for only one year....2021 I believe...and it is one of the best Ibanez's and best guitars I have ever bought....and it was only 1400 new. This is the Indo version of the 5320 which is 2000 and an amazing guitar. I have both.

    Dont grind the metal nut... simply shave off some wood beneath it! A nice sharp chisel makes it like a knife in warm butter and you van shave very thin layers. Much simpler.
    I personally think the high nut decision is perfectly logical, easier to take away than accurately add material.

      Yeah, but being a wood worker myself.....most cannot do that....and if they screw that up they have an issue where as they can always buy a new nut.

    good advice. Never thought about using aluminum foil as a shim. Sorry had to giggle a bit after you said " Shim all my nuts". Sorry

      Thank brother. Sometimes you have to shim your nuts. that is just a part of life. And yes aluminum works great for nuts and necks.

    1st fret buzz? Sounds like you need to shim the nut.

    • @TraceTaylor3
