Counter Strike zombie modes like zombie escape and zombie survival were some of the best modes i have ever played. Back in early to mid 2010s i was completely addicted to the zombie modes in the CSS. There were multiple versions of it like the two previously mentioned but there was also another version of zombie survival where you have to fight multiple wave of zombies bot together with real players, that was really fun and difficult. I might reinstall CSGO just for this mode. Surprised that there is noone that copy these ideas and make a standalone game.
IDK why there is no actual official spin off game of this mod yet. It would be fkin fun to play as batallion of human against huge hoard of human controlled mobs or wars. Make the zombies/alien/monsters with skills with abilities, attacking human while theyre trying to achieve some objectives/story such as defending house completing puzzle or running toward a bunker. Create ranked and leaderboard for players who did well either as human or monster.
I was quite fond of these Zombie Levels but I was usually playing alone with the rest being bots, so it was quite a different game from the norm for me. The bots usually go out fast since they aren't that smart, I then end up handling the rest of at least most of the horde by myself. Usually finding a place with a good vantage point as well as escape route, that or a funnel that is easy to take point and just fire down upon. That or find some corner or hard to get to place then waiting for the round timer to run out for a technical win still. I wonder if I can join a round or two now with a server full of actual players, albeit not sure how'd that turn out if ever but yeah.
