    Kpokpoi is not a poisonous food but like every food if not cooked well it can upset your stomach when eaten. So the Asante’s were offered kpokpoi also sometimes called kpekple which their stomach was not used to and it did give them serious stomach runs which rendered them very sick and weak. Kpokpoi is the main meal made out of moistened fermented corn meal steamed and mixed with pounded boiled okra and palm oil, eaten with palmnut soup and used for celebrating Ga Homowo festival.

    Don’t deceive yourself. Asante loosing a battle in Accra doesn’t mean they fought Gas. Their enemy was the white man living in the Castle not the local people. It’s a fact that Gas were part of the British allies. The battle is part of the Anglo Ashanti wars so don’t claim it bro.

    • @okyekyekutv
      @okyekyekutv ปีที่แล้ว

      The Battle of Dodowa was a significant conflict that took place during the Anglo-Ashanti wars in the 19th century. It occurred on April 7, 1826, in the town of Dodowa, located in present-day Ghana. The battle was fought between the Ashanti Empire, led by their ruler, King Osei Bonsu, and the British forces under the command of Captain Alexander Grant.
      During the battle, the British forces, consisting of around 400 men, including local African allies, faced off against a large Ashanti army. Despite being outnumbered, the British forces utilized their superior firearms and military tactics to gain the upper hand. They effectively repelled the Ashanti attacks and inflicted heavy casualties on their opponents.
      The Battle of Dodowa marked an important turning point in the conflict between the Ashanti Empire and the British. It demonstrated the British military’s capabilities and resilience, and it weakened the Ashanti forces’ morale. This victory paved the way for subsequent British campaigns and eventually led to the signing of the Treaty of 1831, which resulted in a temporary peace between the two sides.
      The battle’s outcome had long-lasting implications for the region, as it contributed to the expansion of British influence in present-day Ghana and the eventual colonization of the Ashanti Empire.

      No wonder people like you without knowledge of your origine, culture and history is like a tree without roots. The Ga's defeated the Ashanti's by the help of the kor-le their God who turn herself a woman and prepared them kpekpe-le, when they were hungry without any food instore. And after eating the meal, they started having running stomack. That was the end of the Ashanti's, they'll became weak for their defeat.
