I haven’t read down but I was thinking about doing this in black coat hangers if I could find them - they would look like wrought iron and would look great on my gray siding! Super idea, I love it.
@@debzvant898 I just came across this video 2 days ago. So haven't tried it yet. However, I can tell you how it worked out for Halloween project I did. So I made some glow in the dark ghost to hang from my tree. I used cheesecloth and dipped them in water downed elmers glued. Then I draped the wet cheese cloth over a balloon and used clips to shape each one differently and let them dry. Once they became stiff and were able to hold their shape, I remove the clips and the balloon and ran a fishing string through the top. I hung them in the trees and then spray painted them with glow in the dark. The more coats you use the brighter they glow. The original idea came for pinterest, but they used cornstarch and water. Not the watered down Elmer's glue. I love how they turned out w/ the glue though. The holes in the cheesecloth and the glue drying clear made the ghost see-through so they looked more realistic. They turned out great and looked awesome. They held up in the weather and I will be using them again next year.
For someone who doesn't really do videos, this is a perfect video done by you, thank you. This is a great idea and a simple, fun craft for those of us with extra plastic hangers, I look forward to creating these with my daughter.
I made one yesterday, spray painted it silver and put a Dollar Tree Silver ornament in the center. But I have to tell you, your explanation was so clear! I would’ve gotten it done quicker with your instructions! Thank you! 💕🙋♀️
Did this this year, with two shades of blue and glitter to top them, two sizes of hangers (regular and child size). Some I over lapped, and a couple I only did half and hung close to the roofs edge. Everyone loves how simple and pretty they are.
I'm so glad I came across this video, I've had a box full of plastic hangers that have sat in storage since this spring, well today I picked them up and decided to take them to a thrift store that supports our local food bank, but...I forgot to put them in my vehicle.....so, guess what I will be doing tomorrow after work...lol...the only difference is, I will spray paint them and add lights, awesome idea, thank you! (Btw, I still donate to the food bank monthly)
I saw your video and immediately looked at the stack of white hangers just collecting dust in the corner of my closet. So excited to dust them off and put them to good use. Thank you so much
Super cute. Then, I. The spring, add a pool noodle and a green 2 liter bottle, cut in half length wise, as a stem and leaves, and you'll have big flowers. 😁👍🏻
Seriously i can actually do this. I love snowmen and snowflakes. I see lights and paint and glitter and maybe that snow stuff. I am so glad i came across this. I have NO MONEY at all so maybe i could make these for my kids for gifts. hmmmm. I can't wait for the dollar store to open by my house.
I am taking down Christmas Jan. 7th and putting up winter until Feb.1. I am gonna make one for my wall inside. I have these hangers already and since cleaning my closets I have lots of extra hangers. Thanks.
Great idea we have both and mama hates plastic hangers for her clothes as do I but my late father lived hem so we have a ton &. Zip ties as well as some red spray paint but I may leave some white we have a huge cedar tree I plan on decorating these will be perfect! Thanks so much!
LOVE THIS! thank you for this tutorial. I’ve made big snowflakes out of popsicle sticks but that was more indoor use. I will definitely be giving these a try for outside.
So clever thank you for sharing - we don’t have snow in Port Elizabeth (S Africa) but always do the traditional Christmas - so snowflakes ❄️ this year the easy way
I live in Richmond, Va in the US -- we don't have giraffes and lions and beautiful birds or zebras or mercats or beautiful elephants -- except in zoos -- but I collect little figurines and watch wildlife programs and visit zoos -- in other words, there's more than one way to experience the wonders of the earth -- best wishes for your holiday season -- Patricia
When I saw them on the wall, I thought this is going to be complicated. Then you start putting them together, I realized this is something I can actually do. Thanks this very creative.
I love this idea. I had bought some snowflakes and they were expensive and they lasted for a long time but ended up braking. I am going to make some for my outside. Thanks for the great idea.
Now that was a great idea I would have never thought of that it's so pretty 👍 👍💛💖💗💞💓💙💜💚 you did a really good job on showing how to attach them and how to make them I really enjoyed this video thanks for sharing
I gave this a try and the snowflakes are really pretty. I had a hard time crawling on the floor and using zip ties and if you get any of the spacing off, the snowflake won't lay flat. I made one with hot glue, it was ok for a while but it needed a few zip ties at stress points. A 3 foot wide snowflake is pretty awkward to carry. I tried baby-sized set of hangers, and they made the cutest mini-snowflakes. Thanks for such a fun craft. Who would think hangers could be so crafty. :)
I've had a lot of fun making these snowflakes and I put lights in mine I have smaller like I think children's hangers. I want to get the little tiny doll ones because next year I'll have snowflakes everywhere in two 1/2.
this is to cool i wanna make one and wrap some clear christmas lights on it because it has the hooks on there and then hang it outside under covered pourch area that would be stunning. im not a diy person but this is too cool and neat. you could also buy the $1 christmas flowers from dollar tree and glue them on there too for an inside display.
Wow how creative! That is so awesome! Never in a million years would I thought of using hangers for snowflakes. You said you are not crafty??!! You coulda fool me. You never know you may surprise yourself.😀
oh wow. thats awesome. my boys (11& 5) and i had a blast making these. i spray painted the first layer light blue and added glitter. omg they look great. best cheap outdoor xmas decor ever :)
Well I did it, 50 ct. light set works perfectly for the large snowflake and 55 zip ties, and took me only 45 minutes. I am very excited to get them on my house outside, this week!
What a “freaking” GREAT idea!! Am hanging them from the hallway ceiling (in varied lengths) outside my classroom as a “Welcome Back!” surprise for my kindergarteners... love it so much, THANKS FOR SHARING Love from Minneapolis, MN!
It is the best and fastest, largest and most inexpensive Christmas ornament I have ever seen, I loved it, and I just personalized it and go. congratulations and thanks for giving us this wonderful idea.
I love this! I do a lot of different crafts and have never seen this before. It is absolutely beautiful and so simple to do thank you so much for doing this video tutorial for us 😊 I hope you decide to do more have a blessed day.
Watched your video. Mine turned out awesome. Like you, I'm not a crafty person. Your video was very helpful, and hilarious. I feel your pain, doing it on the kitchen floor. My family got quite the chuckle watching me get up. I'm from Niagara Falls Canada. Early Christmas gifts for my friends. Truely enjoyed it. Have a great Christmas!
