As someone who has PILES of Warriors from the 9th Ed Leviathan days, I am all about this detachment!! I finally have a reason to run my piles of warriors again!
I am running max bricks of melee, 2 lead by Primes, backed up by 2 Psychophages for the FNP to make them incredibly durable walls. 2 tyrannofex for heavy damage and ranged, 2 ranged warriors to test them, and a neurotyrant with 3 zoanthropes for some tricks. It's simple, but will let me test them as the core front line of the army with a little support
This entire detachment seems like a "tanky" detachment if you build into it. The Enhancements focus on buffing entire units and the Strategems can be quite useful for survival, objective control, and even a bit of damage. Shooty warriors don't do damage all that well, but 7.2 points per T5, 4+/5++ wound really isn't bad in regards to durability. If you put them with a Neurotyrant they can provide a cheap and durable bodyguard for the Neurotyrant. Also, with the Neurotyrant's +1 to Hit/+1 to Wound they can actually do some okay damage in Ranged combat, especially with Synaptic Amplification. This Stratagem also buffs a nearby Endless Multitude unit. The Neurotyrant gives them Big Guns Never Tire so they can shoot within Engagement Range. If using Deathspitters and including both shooting and melee damage in their Damage/Turn, it effectively increases their overall damage by ~50%. Melee warriors were already pretty darn good. What they lack is a way to get into combat. They're not any faster unless you take the 30 point Adv&Charge enhancement, but the added durability is welcome and the reanimation strat can get you closer to the enemy. Giving them +1 to hit with the Enhancement or a Neurotyrant makes their hits extremely reliable. The added OC makes it much easier to tip objectives in your favor when you throw them into the thick of it. Gargoyles are kinda overpowered in this detachment IMO. If you attach a Winged Tyranid Prime to a Gargoyle unit while it has Sensory Assimilation, you now have Gargoyles with 5+ Invulns that give -1 to Hit to all enemies attacking them. With Synaptic Shield you can also give enemies -1 to Wound both them and Tyranid Warriors unit of your choice. You now have an extremely mobile unit that can multi-charge to lock down multiple shooting threats or even deter dedicated melee units (choose the latter cautiously ofc). The unit has both mobility and durability and that makes it extremely flexible in its use. One turn it's hiding behind a wall holding an objectives, the next it's screening, and the next it's locking down multiple powerful shooting threats. Unless they devote more shooting than desirable to it the unit will stick around and be a nuisance. The Advance & Charge Enhancement can be used on for Warriors, but is can also be useful on a Tyrant with Guard, a Flyrant, or a Broodlord with Genestealers. In this detachment, all of the Enhancements are genuinely useful in some way. The same can be said about the Stratagems. Of course you can't really rely on Warriors alone to high T/high save models with much efficiency, but their ability to destroy infantry (even Elite infantry like Custodes/DG) is pretty solid, and only gets better the lighter the infantry gets. They'll need support to kill big things, but for such a focused detachment it makes sense that it would struggle in some areas and you would need to make up for it.
even with +2str i dont think shooting warriors are worth 2 venom cannons at s11 seems meh when you could just take exocrines and do the same but better. I think melee warriors are generally like rogue level competitive tho with -1w and an inv and oc3. you could take a bunch of big squads and use them as decent mid field holders at 150 for 6 and then exocrine tfex or malecptors all be great shooting now with the +2str. also want to point out you can make a tfex flamer st8 so it would be wounding marines on a +2.
@ I think you choose between 3 5 invul plus 1 to advance and charge and add one to the hit but it effects more than just warriors so warriors can give giants tyranofexs all 5 invuls the strength one is nice tho I think if you want warrior spam nexus is build for that a bit more and didn’t mean to sounds aggressive there love your Channels content just wish warriors had there swords again

Very curious what a warrior heavy build will look like!

Warriors are my favorite Tyranids unit! Love this!
They're such a classic unit, one of my first Tyranids painted

Thanks Adrian. Loving the brevity.
Keeping it quick and digestible!
It's about time warriors got some love, used to run them in 9th in my Kronos Nidzilla list to great effect.
i see good synergy with Gargoyles.
put a Prime in the unit :D
1 squad of gargoyls also a hive tyrant seems good.
Warrior units get the invuln… so gargoyles with a prime gets 5+ invuln
Oh that's super fun
Yep, and -1 to be hit if you take the enhancement.

Yeah funny enough it incentivizes non warrior units more than warriors, now if you could take more venomcanons per 3 we'd be cooking
Thanks for your hard work. It might be a long month.
haha thank you! We are ready for it!
Hey prob been asked already. But does anyone know if they plan on adding these to the app?
Yes I think it was by January next year
@ ok thanks. Figured. Just couldn’t find anything on it.
Started trolling the Tsons players for tomorrow. They have to dust off there 100tzangors for cult of mutation!
ahhhhh time to run 72 tyranids lol, jk but im totally running 36 warriors with guns
72 warriors!!!
So I bought the codex, then they release more rules for the army, that are not in the code? Dicks.
Wait until you find out that in another year or two the entire rules will change and you have to buy all the books again, lol.
Idk what your smoking you get the 5 invul in synapses nexus
for 1 turn unless you want to spend cp to put them back in it not really worth.
True, though once per game outside of stratagems vs armywide is quite different
