My mum died in November and I used to play this for her cos she loved it. She’d sing along to the chorus as best she could. Today is first day I’ve been able to listen to this again and I keep thinking how cool my mum was. At 73 years of age she could still spot a quality tune. This song will always have a special place in heart.

As a man who almost literally gave his life to addiction and still struggles with lower forms of addiction this song hit home hard, its amazing how certain songs can pull me out of most forms of stress, depression and anxiety, this makes me think of all the stress and hurt my loved ones went through due to my addictions, to any addicts of any form lean on the ones who care for you, dont suffer in silence, i assure you you are not alone me and millions of other are right here with you 🙏

I lost my cousin to drugs in 2018 and it was very hard to watch my aunt live while her youngest died now she is struggling with addiction to pill and alcohol I send her this every 2 weeks to let her know she has us... and our lights are always on

I love this song, especially the line "I refuse to lose another friend to drugs " because I have lost 3 friends to drugs, and my BFF is now trying to break free from drugs, I send this song to her anytime she tells me she feels like giving up the battle, and she says it helps her keep fighting, thank you for giving us this song.
Touching story I've lost a few friends to drugs over the years was hooked on cocaine myself for few years took heart attack and died had to be brought back I now have a pacemaker to keep me going I'm drug free for 7 years now sometimes we need to be at the lowest point before we bounce hope your friend gets through this dark time

He may not have anyone. Some people just don’t even think they are worth help so these tactics can be a last ditch. Rejection from strangers isn’t as bad as rejection from friends or family. Ya just never know. Better to just let the person reach for help regardless because they need help.
If you need help, please reach out for help. So many have gone through hell these past few years. I mean like half the planet. For real. Many have made it to the other side and can help you. There is much more understanding of mental hardships than we use to have and waaaaaay less judgement. Why? Because we have ALL been there.

i loved the song when i came out 3 years ago. It was a masterpiece. And it still is. This song has so much meaning behind the lyrics. it helped me when i suffered from clinical depression. And it reminds me that we all make mistakes because we are all human. And we can all change. And we all deserve a place where we can return to.

So, here's an explanation.
There's a TV series called SKAM (fom Norway) which shows stories from POV of teenagers, like LGBTQ+, Muslims ect. and that show ended in 2017. Now, other countries such as France bought permissions to make a French remake. And there's a season about Lucas who had to accept his sexual orientation and found a love. But his boyfriend appeared to be bipolar and strange things happened, like he went out for swimming totally naked and Lucas panicked, called his bf (Eliott) ex girlfriend, she explained everything to Lucas and he cried because she called him "a whore". Then Lucas went home alone blah blah blah, his friends tried to cheer him up, one of his friends (Basile) told him that he has bipolar mother and she isn't crazy and unable to love and he convinced Lucas to go search Eliott so he went to Eliott's flat but was too scared to enter so he posted ig story where he's waiting outside of Eliott's flat and this song is played in the background.

I suffer everyday with addiction, and feel it's a losing battle that one day will claim my life. Someone I admire and look up to sent a video she made with this in the background playing. I think to my self if someone cares that much about me and my well being, why can't I kick this , I know it's killing me , I know I will die from it but tomorrow I will repeat this cycle again.
