    Hi Tony. Preventative maintenance can sometimes feel like a chore but it's not in the book for no reason. Thanks for showing this. But yeah sometimes you get a curveball and you just have ro react to it! Gizmo looking a lot more comfortable with the outdoors. Gorgeous pup.

      Preventative maintenance is king. There is not much to do other than replace the bearings. They are sealed. I ordered extra bearings to keep on hand. I will replace them at the first sign of trouble. They are very inexpensive.

    Thanks Tony. Knowing that bearings go out in short-ish order just tells me to keep a couple sets onhand along with belts etc.
    Looking forward to my OS23 arriving!

    It can be really frustrating to have to do maintenance and repairs on equipment when you're trying to get work done... but that's the cost of doing bigger things in life. We could be sitting around eating potato chips and watching Nascar but there's too much to do outside!!! LOL Great video!

      The centrifugal clutch bearing went out right after this. Lesson learned. Once one bearing goes out, change them all. $80 in bearings every two years, is not a big deal. I think this will be my new rule.

    Hello Tony thanks for all your videos they've been a big help when getting to know my new OS23. I have a quick question. I watch as you slice through your logs, you seem to move pretty quickly. I have the 10 horse Briggs engine on mine and it is really slow when cutting. I can hardly push at all or my blade will completely stop. I've reached out to frontier and they are stumped. I've adjusted the idler pulley and made sure the tensioner is also tight. I can open the throttle up all the way at the engine bypassing the throttle cable and it still will not cut through a 12 in pine log. I have found that if I bypass the throttle all together and manually push on the governor on the back side of engine I can cut with no stalling. It seems to be a low rpm issue to me. I'm at a loss. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    hi Tony thanks for sharing the video, how long does a brand new blade last providing you don't hit any metal? how many board feet can you cut? are your blades carbide tooth? if not do they make a carbide tooth blade?

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are too many variables. Is the log dirty? What type of wood? What kind of blade? How big is the log? So many variables.

  • @robertrose4847
    @robertrose4847 ปีที่แล้ว

    My mill blade slips. No matter the tension level I put on the blades. Saw is brand new with brand new blades. When I go into the log, the blade cuts for a few seconds and then stops even at full throttle. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong? Saw worked fine when I first got it. Two logs in, I get the blade slippage.

    My clutch is getting so hot it's melting the belt? Is it bad? Should I replace it or order a new motor?

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Two things may be happening. Your clutch is worn out and slipping. The slipping will cause excess heat. The other possibility is that you're pushing the sawmills too hard. I see many people try to make the sawmills cut faster than they're capable of.

      I grew up on a farm, so I had plenty of hard knocks. I also spent almost 30 years in the Army maintaining equipment. I have been to a lot of formal training/schools. I can make do if I have to, but it was easy to have all the correct tools when the tax payers paid for it.

    • @TonysTractorAdventure
      @TonysTractorAdventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is not so much about the time. It is more about how much we use it. A car that drives 5000 miles each year vs one that drives 40,000 miles per year. One needs tires. Plus, I have no problem spending $80 each year on maintaining my sawmill.

      It is common on sawmills of all brands. The bearings are turning at high speeds. They go down fast on a $5000 sawmill or a $25,000 sawmill. I figure it is not a big deal to spend $80 each year on bearings.

      @@TonysTractorAdventure Is it harmful to feed dogs human food?
      A dog's digestive system is different from a human's. Typical human food is much too rich and fatty for a dog to properly digest; eating it can lead to vomiting, diarrhea and even more severe conditions like pancreatitis. Many human foods also contain an unhealthy amount of sodium for dogs.F
