It's funny, Yvonne: you have to walk such a fine line between preserving vs. revitalizing old stuff! It seems people want to see age, but a bit prettified and neatened-up! The small "1884" box is lovely, and even more so because you cleverly used your remnants from other projects.
Oh I just love the techniques you used on those boxes, Yvonne! Love the antiquing wax on them. Everything was awesome as always, but those boxes stole my heart! Thank you for sharing your work!
My favorites were the two wood boxes; love to see you beautifully transform these things that most people wouldn't tackle. The stools were so cute also. I also keep extra bits and pieces of decoupage paper and transfers, sorted by type (flowers, insects, wording, etc.) and it's amazing how many times I use them.
Good evening Yvonne. Your decorating skills on a budget are superlative and exceptionally creative. I'm truly impressed . One of the things I used to like to do is bottle cutting. I'd cut glass wine bottles I picked up from a local restaurant to create vases (leaving the label on). I'd hang flowers in a special drying rack. Once they were properly aged, I'd spray them with a can of Dollar Store hair spray as a preservative. The end result was that two beautiful things which normally would have been discarded were merged into one fairly timeless thing of beauty. By the way, the production values of this video are excellent. TYFS and have a great weekend. 😊😊
I started collecting vintage kitchen items over thirty years ago. One of my favorites is a chippy yellow pop crate that I've used for a spice rack since then. I love your cotton crate makeover! ❤️

Even though they were all great I loved the bigger wooden box the most but, those corbels were the best of all. I sure wish I lived by because I would grab those corbels for sure. Hugs

Hi Siobhan, great work, once again. I'm very interested that you don't seem to ever have any bleed through problems with the wood stain coming through your white paint. I find that I have to apply a shellac coat to so many wooden items first before painting. How do you manage to avoid this successfully? Cheers

I watched some of those crates on an On-Line Auction today…oh my goodness they were selling so high! $45-60 😳 I love the ones with the metal trim on the sides too! Galvanized Watering Cans on that Auction …$75 !!! I think maybe some of those people buying those Crocks in the $100’s at you Auction were on mine today! The Crocks went really high also! You are correct about the rough edges on pine stools and benches… they catch ALL THE CAT HAIR, dust, etc ….LOL!!!! Wonderful work again. Oh I them all! But those stools are just too cute! And those corbels, I know they're mostly used in decorating doorways and columns but personally I think they'd look great as bookends if they were weighted down some. But that's just me. Love your videos and your work!
