Just today, 25.11.24, another 14 new colors by Roman Szmal appeared on the market. I couldn't resist, I bought another 4 large cubes for my collection. As a Pole, I am proud of this wonderful manufacture, which is conquering new markets in the world. Thank you for this video 🙂
Love the Roman Szmal paints. Probably in my top 3 most loved watercolor paint brands. My favorite colors include: potter's pink, naples yellow reddish (a light wash is amazing for skies), misty morning (perfect to give foggy landscapes that extra something), and Ocean Blue (I just really like this color). For the price and quality, the paints are wonderful.
So far I have only five colours (including the Aquarius Green - currently beating my Undersea!). The Aquarius Orange is so good that I'm going to paint my front door that colour if I can get it matched at the hardware store! Also, the Aquarius Grey is so so beautiful, it's really getting a workout in my studio. Thanks for covering and I love your colour chart!
Lovely video and beautiful painting. I lovveee Roman Szmal 😅😂 have an entirely playlist dedicated to them Even though their price has increased since I first discovered them, they are still excellent value for money❤
Beautiful painting. Roman small paints are my absolute favorite and I have compared them with every brand. They have some very unique blends and granulating paints that are just fabulous. Thank you for the video❤
This brand also has some very, very unique pigments that I love like Quin Scarlet (no pigment number yet), Ginger Red Rudy (PR290) - it's the same texture as Oxide of Chromium and literally looks like a carrot, and Strontium Violet (PV62). Blue Ochre is also very beautiful.
I love Roman Szmal painting, they are professional quality and affondable. There is here on TH-cam an interview where Mr Roman said he was working on Tube versione of the paints. Let’s hope he will release them soon
So glad to see you reviewing the Roman Szmal set. I'm in love with them...such beautiful paints. I love the Aquarius green more than the DS Undersea green tbh. Wait until you try his other colours...there's some gems! I can't wait for his tubes to be released.
I have one of his larger full pan sets and I definitely love some of the unique colors. Probably my favorite is Shadow Violet. Thanks for reviewing - I didn't know he's come out with half-pans.
Hullo Emily, I have a set of 24 full pans of this brand and I will say they are a very good paint. I am more of a fan of DaVinci Paints of California! Marchello is the leading member of this family owned paint company! An added plus for me is this company resides in the USA. I am NOT an isolationist! You know there are brands that I simply will not purchase paint from! I do not believe that this is Roman’s best set of paints, I would need more yellow paint and one green is perhaps to many! Mixing your colors is always better for learning how a medium works! I liked your “giraffe swatch” and I am always looking for new ways to test paint and then move onto a painting for a practical or real world application of a new brand. Thanks for sharing this with us and I look forward to your next video. Please take care be safe and have a lovely day!
I love Roman Szmal paint! Jackson's has sales every so often, so every so often I treat myself to new colors! On sale, the full pans are super affordable and like you found out, he has such unique colors. I'm glad you liked them as much as I do!
This sounds like a wonderful set! Since I'm rather new with watercolors, could you explain the appeal of granulating colors and how to use them in various subject matter? BTW, the giraffe face is a lovely way to do color swatching!
Lovely. You drew me in with saying they were single pigment, then went on to state that many are not single at all. So I'm confused. My main palette is M. Graham, and I have all of the other major brands. I have heard wonderful things about Roman's paint and am heading to Jackson's now. Thank you.
Hi Most of them are in fact single pigment. 3 out of the twelve are multi pigment colors: Aquarius Yellow PY168 Pyrrole Scarlet PR255 Aquarius Red PR214 Mineral Violet PB29 / PV19 French Ultramarine PB29 Phthalo Blue (RS) PB15:6 Sap Green Light PY110 / PG7 Aquarius Green PY150 / PBr25 / PB29 Venetian Yellow Earth PY43 Burnt Sienna Monte Amiata PBr7 Caput Mortuum PR102 Cyprus Burnt Umber Deep PBr7 I hope this helps. I can recommend Roman Szmal paints. They really are a joy to work with. Really good price for what you get. (Well, I’m in Europe, I love M Graham, but they are very expensive for me). Have fun creating!
@@MirjamRoesli thank you so much for your reply. It really helped. I tried to use her link and it brought up an error page. Found the US Jackson's store and they're more expensive and then add shipping costs. But still I may need them for my collection ❤
Emily, u must try Mr Roman Szmals brushes, they r just the best and the only ones I now purchase for my watercolour paintings x The paints r beautiful too but my favourite is still QOR. I love the movement of them due to their unique binder they use, which u can now purchase a bottle of their binder in a glass bottle...which is magic. love Alli X
I def recommend you go to Jackson's and look thru there Roman Szmal selection and gran more of their unique single pigment colors you won't find anywhere else. Roman Szmal has some of the most beautiful watercolors I've ever tired...PY61 is one of the most beautiful cool yellows I've tried. There are a ton of TH-cam videos swatching out the entire line; perhaps check out some of those videos before asking your selection....Tho the set in this video is beautiful it just doesn't do the Roman Szmal watercolors the justice they deserve lol.
Thank you for this video! The colors do look great! But what I am unsure about is that he uses additives. So the comparison between his paints, and for example the horadam from Schmincke might not be so fair because as far as I know, they don’t use additives with the horadam colours.
Hi Emily, I recently joined your online school. I’ve recently done some of your cat tutorials. What Instagram address should we link our art tutorial results to? I know your Instagram page but is there another for students to post their art on?
Emily, in your email announcing this video, you said that you've started an online shop, where you'll be selling t-shirts, but I can't find a link to it anywhere. Can you please tell me where to find your shop?
I know what you mean! Sometimes I just stop watching a video because of all the commercials. I sometimes close the video and try to open it again, just to avoid the commercials that appear at the beginning of the video, but after several attempts and a plethora of ads, I just give up. Usually, I just move on to another video, but if I’m really offended by the sheer number of commercials, I will block the channel.
I actually didn’t get one commercial and I don’t have TH-cam premium either. Maybe TH-cam has changed something. She usually doesn’t have many commercials.
@@GodzHarleyGirlStudio I don’t think I got commercials on this video; if I did, it probably was only one. Unfortunately, this is not the case at all with other videos where I get bombarded with ads.
@cris_ad You don't need to be or speak Polish to correctly pronounce a word, it's a matter of respect, you also don't have a mandate to speak on what is or isn't fine and it'snot even remotely hard word, so get over yourself with those eyerollings.
@@FrancesRanger well, it's pronounced "szmal", as written lol, but "sz" in Polish is always read as "sh", which is confusing if you don't know Polish ortography. If I could suggest this video for some laughs th-cam.com/video/wn1mjIiB9zM/w-d-xo.html and so you can say that Polish is in fact kinda insane language to write.

I don’t think pans are a drawback, it’s more of a preference. Also, I believe tubes are in the works.
