NEL is my favorite arc purely because Ubers and PXG are by far the best of blue lock that we've ever seen. The depth of character we're seeing in the NEL is beyond even the U20 arc and carries some of the heaviest of moments, to the point where the final Hiori x Isagi super goal in BM vs Ubers made me feel like I was rereading the Luck goal that Isagi scored at the end of the vs Japan U20. All of this is to say that I think the NEL deserves a solid 1st place, because my main complaint about Blue Lock up until Manshine and Ubers was that Isagi felt extremely weak and I feel like he didn't really deserve most of his moments, but with the introduction of metavision and Isagi's adaptability being on full throttle, I feel like Isagi really became an actual player at that moment
I agree that 3 goals system in NEL sucks. But I don't agree with predictability aspect. I think only PXG match is predictable asf in terms of who will score and who will assist, but I still don't think that it's a bad thing, because the most important thing here is that we obviously can predict who can score, but it's really hard for us to predict how they will score. For example Isagi's two gun volley. I don't believe that anybody expected this type of goal at all or Kunigami's dope assist or Kiyora's amazing assist. MC match for me was the most unpredictable game in the whole BL, because the only thing that anybody could predict is that Kaiser will score and Nagi will score. That's it. But I'm sure that nobody expected that Nagi will score such a beauty or Kaiser. I think only the second part, especially PXG match became predictable. But as I said predictable doesn't mean bad. The most important thing is how they will do it and I don't think that it's a good idea rank an arc, that's still not finished yet, because most of BL arcs proved that the ending of the arc in most cases are the peaks of the arc. We don't know how good the next two goals will be and what else could happen. The arc could become the biggest disappointment in this last twenty chapters, if for example Rin score the final goal and wins against Isagi or if Isagi scores the final goal with the help of Ness fully replicating the final Uber's goal. Or maybe Isagi will score with Ness's assist, but at the same time he will show to us some amazing skills or something. Maybe Loki will be involved. We still don't know the ending, so I don't think it's fair to give it a rating yet.
agreed but i will say 3rd selection is soo underrated it had alot of charcter development i give it a 7.5/10 and nel 8.7/10 just for nagi and reo and chigri vs isagi, that was the peak of this arc.
Unlike a lot of ppl i actually think the first half of the nel is probably peak blue lock it specifically bm vs barcha and manshine vs bm mainly and the first half of the ubers match cuz at that point everything was just so fun to read cuz bachira barou chigiri lorenzo yukimiya kaizer legit all in my top 10 were going crazy in this matches wish i could say the same for shidou but yeah
