If the goal was more rings then maybe. Almost no teams spend as little as the Cowboys and yet they are by far the most valuable and profitable team. Since the actual goal is profits in the bank at that no other owner even comes close. There will not be another NFC trophy while he is owner.

Here's the thing: there's zero impetus for JJ to extend Dak atm. The roster is reasonably settled. They simply aren't going to go sign any big free agents at this point. 1, JJ doesn't play that game and 2, any free agent of any concern is gone now. It's just rooks and vet minimums at this point. Sure, extending him now is probably slighty cheaper. Whoopty-doo. If the team fails, again, blow it up, clean slate. If they succeed and MM and Dak come back im sure JJ will be fine at 65m AAV if they finally reached NFC championship, at least.

I know they can’t trade him but can’t they cut him and free up cap space? He needs to go because Micah and CD need to stay. They ought to let Dak play his last season if they’re stuck with him and then move on. Maybe they should draft a QB in this upcoming draft because there’s so many or maybe they should draft a RB to replace Zeke. They couldn’t run the ball or stop the run last season so that’s something to consider.
They should trade him along with CeeDee, Micah and every other valuable piece this team has. There's no available QB that makes this team better and if you believe there is then you're stupid
@@emiliorocha9826 any QB the Cowboys can get in the first round would probably get the same results as Dak following 2024 and Daks departure. Soon as Daks contract weight is lifted the Cowboys can breathe again and reserve real talent so it’s not a bad idea to draft a cheap QB and build around him. The only thing stupid is if Jerry traded up for a possible bust or gave Dak another extension expecting different results from the last years where Dak was cheapest, where they pushed his money to the last year of his veteran contract so they can afford a monster team in the earlier years. It never worked out because Dak is really just average.

Yes I know some teams have little luck with rookie QBs but my point is the Cowboys can afford more talent with a QB on a rookie contract and get the same results as an expensive QB; defeat. No sensible person can argue for another Dak extension after the monster rosters he’s had these past and still going nowhere. The next QB class is stacked and Jerry should look to the future at QB, or he could draft a top RB and take some weight off the QB for the next 8 years.

What you've got to find a way to get him to work harder and win better in the postseason and leverage that money with it. Cowboys actually have leverage because of dax post season record.
