This video was shot in Toronto. In high school, all we did was basement parties in Toronto since every house had a basement. So much fun back in the day
I co-sign this comment. This video was super accurate when it came out. It definetly captured the culture of basement parties at a Jamaican (and caribean) household in Toronto at the time. Don't even know if the kids do that anymore.
You might as well go ahead and do the whole Dutty Rock album. That era was a whole vibe! SP had the clubs on FIIIIIRRREEEEE with everything he dropped.
@@ahfimiwonawun depending on their age no a lot of younger people wouldn't know that so that's why it's good to give information to the younger people that never heard of SuperCat
@@BKLYN_TZU , I wasn’t talking about young people today. That’s I said “knew”. I’m talking about his early days before he got famous in america when he was coming up on mixtapes in Jamaica. I’m not holding it against the lady reviewing the video for not knowing. It’s no big deal anyway.
Great reaction! Now Sean - Paul Gimme The Light. And basement parties are I think more of an up north thing. This video was in Toronto in the winter time so they were very happy to have that heat in the basement. Lol

Every chune (joint) on the Album is a Dancehall Hit. Believe Mi.!!!! Dutty Rock
Basement jams were DOPE AF!
Sean Paul clearly took Supercat flow and cadence to create his sound
He was influenced by super cat. That’s the better way to say it. Didn’t be steal anything.
@@Traveler89_89 one don't you ever in your short life span tell how to phrase anything he took his style that's itj
Yeah, everyone knew he was influenced by Cat.

I had a girlfriend whose parents were Jamaican.... they were actually crazy strict
lol that old man was not Jamaican I know your black American but if you were around Jamaican people you would tell he doesn’t have a Jamaican accent
Yeah, he from some other island. Maybe Barbados or something, I don’t know.
@@ahfimiwonawun Nah not Barbados probably Martinique or one of the smaller French islands it didn’t sound like English was his first language
@@reisanderson9069 I’ll take your word for it. I ain’t good at the other accents besides Jamaican.
@@ahfimiwonawun Yea Jamaica and Barbados are similar and easy too spot the guys accent sounded borderline African or Haitian
This isn’t transformative at all, just stealing dudes video
I’m scratching my head because why are you doing a reaction to a song that is 20 years old?
It was a request.
Because someone asked and requested and because she can
Good good get busy yeah
