I feel this song completely. My Mom had me when she was almost 15. I became a ward of the state after i ran away at 15. Foster home, 3 group homes, 2 bootcamps before I was 18. I swept that under the rug and acted like it never happened. This song made me bring it up. To heal from it. So I gotta say thanks for makin this song.

Why I love Kevin Gates, I can relate to him and I feel his pain. Same as me at 15 ran away, I was the black sheep of my family and had them talking about me when I was young behind my back and growing up. Went to Juvenile detention, arrested a few times. Grew up poor and with fake people all around me. Im not friendly, but I am one hell of a good friend despite all the sht people done to me. Although I am successful now, this pain never goes away, heal from it, sure, but its something you will never forget. And I am sure many people on here probably relates to him as well. His music is therapeutic and very thank for him creating this. Glad Kevin Gates made it out the mud and is now successful, well deserved.

I was a prisoner to my pain pill addiction (i have almost 6 yrs of continuous sobriety) im the black sheep of my family because im adopted, my best friend took her own life in January 2019 (i feel like im responsible for her death because i live 100 miles away from her) and i feel like i failed her as a best friend/sister.
This is by far my favorite Gates song.
You're killing it with sobriety. Post acute withdrawal syndrome is a real thing and can last years after getting clean. It's the psychological aspect of withdrawal. You can work through these feelings, you've got this ♡

You're not responsible for your friends passing, your friend was obviously in a really dark place it's not your fault so please don't feel like that. I lost my best friend a year ago because he lost his fight with addiction while I was 700 miles away so I completely understand how you feel. But we can't blame ourselves, would our friends really want us to?
Keep it up I lost my brother to pills an than he got small bag of coke an didnt realize it had fentanyl in it an burst his artery in his nose blood to death 32 had two kids one was 11 an one didn't know about she was pregnant while setting up services

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm not kidding or lying when I say this but since 2015, I have lost 57 friends to addiction. 99% of them have died to heroin laced with fentanyl.
When my bestfriend died, I was so hurt more than anything because she took her own life by overdosing on heroin that was laced w/fentanyl. We had plans to spend this this summer together because I live in Louisville and she lived in florence ky (about 10 minutes from Cincinnati) I still talk to her mother daily. She left behind a 19 yr old son (hes the 1 who found her) and a 10 year old son.
