They were both dope, Rashaad was just has such a beautiful recipe, he really be dancing and listening in such a different way, unpredictable.
Rashaad's possibilites seem never ending. I mean his moves seem infinite sometimes. I would love to see him dance longer each set.
And Brooke was so surprising alot of times, I give respect to both of them because of their skills. But I got to admit that Brooke made alot of progress. He put alot of work in these battles and in his practice.
What I don't understand is why people talk about Brooke as if he won't be able to progress even further. I understand that Rashaads maturity in dance is to be highly appreciated and for me the way that Rashaad dance... that's something that makes me fall in love with the dance called popping once again, and again and again. But Brooke did his best, he will be able to do even more in the future.
Yet all people have to say about Brooke is that he was... basic :P.

Rashaad lives in the music. It's crazyyy. He stays there the whole time he's dancing. Your stank face gets stuck watching him! Brooke is dope too! But Rashaad is showing something else here.

Yeaaaah Rashaad took this! Brooke is one the cleanest poppers in the game, no doubt about that at all. DUDE is NICE, gotta give him that. BUT he is also very basic in his approach, lot of repetition of vibrated hits, same hit approaches. Predictable timing. Only thing Brooke really shines at is his BEAT CATCHING, reason why i didn't say musicality is because Shad, has musicality, advance rhythm plus beat catching.
Shad is light yrs ahead of the majority of poppers in complexity within dance and funk new & old! Brooke can not dance on Shads level period, that is a VISUAL FACT. Only thing for me was Shads rounds was a bit short. BUT he still OWNED! Much respect g!

Agree. Brooke definitely knew how to work crowd with the obvious beat kills but Rashaad is totally original. And he does those big giant, full body concepts/movements. Rashaad let's it be only about the music. But looking at these comments, seems like Rashaad may have to throw in some blow ups and easy beat kills for these comps.
I don't see wtf you talking about _light years ahead_ and other shit.. @ 4:31 Shad was off beat, and his pops are soft not that clean and refined like Brooke's. Brooke was clearly schooling the boy, my guess is that you just got into popping.

I still agree with Jade. Rashaad is doing the most difficult, and important thing ,with this dance: making it his own. Brooke is dope but he's just not taking the dance to a different place like Rashaad is. It's easier to appreciate Brooke's movements because you've seen similar shit before.
Also, you should take a second to watch clips of Jade and Rashaad before you say "they just got into popping". They are two of the best in the game bar none and they are respected by all your favorite dancers.
both killed it, wouldn't say Rashaad got murdered. It was mulitple and well played techniques vs one technique that was used very very good. Could of honestly gone either way. S'why the judges had a split decision y'all. Also the cheer meter wasn't far off either.

both were dope, but i can see why brooke took this one
they were neck and neck, but rashaad was short in his rounds and not as clean as brooke with execution. i love the energy, but battles need execution to be on par with each other

To the people who thought Rasheed won, Can you please define what popping is? , To the people who said Brooke had a lot of repetition can you please tell me what you popping warm starts with?? To the people who said Brooke winning this battle is embarrassing, Can you please remind yourself of the Pioneers popping Technic and Ask yourself if you see it Brooke' movement??
In my Opinion he and Hoan are ahead of most of the popper out there as because the are students who learnt from the pioneers

What pioneers? Boogaloo Sam and Poppin pete¿ There're more pioneers in the game, lot of them, not just in fresno.
question back to you, which pioneers are you looking at in your analysis? are you just looking at the EBs? because Rashaad is taking inspiration from pioneers from the Oakland/Bay Area (the Black Messengers, the Black Resurgents, Pop Tart, etc.), inspiration from pioneers around Europe (Damon Frost, Thomas FX, Steen, etc.), some L.A. cats, etc. and flipping it. None of those pioneers get down like Brooke or Hoan. There's so much more to popping than just hitting, and this is coming from a guy named Hitman hahaha.
We say Rashaad is ahead of the game because he mixes so many styles, flavors, dances, rhythm changes, music expressions, etc. (there's so many layers), in addition to adding himself back into the equation and keeps it popping. At some point to get ahead you'll have to break free of what the pioneers are doing, otherwise you're actually behind and are just doing something that would be considered ahead of the game 40 years ago.
Go watch Jazzy J. Do ur history of HOW Popping even took off homie. Then come back.
