      To paraphrase Arthur Neville Chamberlain
      Im Krieg gibt es keine Gewinner, sondern alle sind Verlierer, ganz gleich, welche Seite sich zum Sieger erklären mag.(In war there are no winners, everyone is loosing despite which side appoints itsself as one)

      @@hongshing1398 I would have stuck with the original quote in English: “In war, whichever side may call itself the victor, there are no winners, but all are losers.”
      Unfortunately, Mr. Chamberlain was wrong, as proved by:
      Alexanda the Great
      The Roman Empire
      Genghis Khan Imperator
      Totius Hispaniae (Spanish Empire)
      The East India Company
      The British Empire
      The USA - that made the largest profit in human history on the Second World War that the Soviet Union and The British Empire paid for.
      Sometimes quotes lose their power when translated. For instance, my mother, who fought in the Congo left me with two pieces of advice, quotes if you wish. But even when giving them in the original language, I change out the word “Mashine (Machine), as it would make one of the quotes non-comprehensible to someone who wasn’t African.
      “Ukisimama na wengine wewe ni nyumbu. Daima kukaa katika vivuli. Sogeza haraka, unapopumzika, uwe mzuka.”
      Roughly translated:
      “If you stand with others, you are a mule. Always stay in the shadows. Move quickly, when you rest, become a ghost.”
      “Ukijikuta msituni, na wakubwa wanakuelekezea bunduki mgongoni. Kisha geuka mpenzi wangu, AK74 yako inaelekea upande usiofaa.”
      Roughly translated:
      “If you find yourself in the forest, and there are guns pointed at your back by your superiors. Then turn around my dear, your AK74 is pointing in the wrong direction.”

    I'm very 'curious' if the old and wealthy people in charge are really going for a nuclear exchange. It's so sad. My radioactive ashes won't even be suitable to grow tomatoes or flowers in.
    Edit: I'm very glad that I've found this channel. I deeply respect the Commander's sober yet slightly sarcastic approach to reporting.

      I think the Americans are so drunk with power they are doing it by accident. They really can't believe that anyone would stand up to them, they are certain that if they just push a little more the Russians will crack. And they are betting the whole world on it.

    It seems that the Russians want to attack from Selydove and Novohrodvika towards the West to the administrative border of Donetsk Oblast. In doing so, the tactical option is that they will attack in parallel each of the two lines of defense south of Selydove which are strangely facing south (?) ... By advancing gradually and tactically on each side of each of these two defensive lines (which only seem to be about 2 km apart), they will annihilate the defensive system facing the South with their attack coming from the West from Selydove... it It would therefore seem that the Russians want to move deep towards the West until they have neutralized the entire Ukrainian defensive system... beyond that, there is no defensive system built and this would allow them to be circumvented by a large movement of flank towards the North and go up towards Pokrovsk... the southern front would then literally be cut into two parts ... The Russians certainly want to take the crossroads located at Novotroiske and Novoolevnika as well as Udachne to cut part of the Ukrainian supply lines from Pokrovsk before winter... is this a large rotating movement aimed at surround Pokrovsk?

    • @Jim-Tuner
      @Jim-Tuner 19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Its not so strange that the Selydove defenses are facing south. There were points of time earlier in the war where Russian attacks south to north seemed more likely than east to west. Earlier in the war, the Russians were facing substantial defenses moving west in Ukraine but far weaker defense moving north. In particular, there were assumptions in Ukraine earlier in the war that the Russians could never take Advika by direct assault from the east. That assumption created other assumptions about where defenses should be located.

    It's just tragic to watch the minor gains each day and realize that each day's advance of half-a-field or a quarter of a city block was purchased with the lives of young men who will never be fathers, husbands, entrepreneurs, or artists. No matter where the map lines are drawn at the end, the land gained will never produce one tenth as much wealth as the soldiers would have had they not died.

      Attrition. The German warfighting capabilities started to collapse after three years of attrition during WW2. But it took another two years until the total collapse.
      The truth is that Ukraine never really had any chance of winning this war. They put up a good fight, but the Russians simply have a lot more reserves, a military industrial capacity to rival all of NATO combined, a self sufficient economy etc.
      The only hope was that the sanctions would collapse the Russian economy. When that did not happen, the outcome of this war was pretty much decided.

    • @hongshing1398
      @hongshing1398 21 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Nothing collapsed so far really, Russia only took minor amounts of ground in 2024, Slightly more then the total amount of ground taken by Ukraine in Kursk. No breakthrus only tactical retreats to backup positions to decrease overall troop losses. This war will most likely go on for years if peace cant be made by a peace treatie as militarily it wont be won in the next time by either side. Its just sad, its always the poor people who have to suffer the effects of the war. Innocent deaths in Ukraine, Rapeing and Torturing of habitants in captured areas, crumbeling economy in Russia... War has no winners, Putin is bringing immense suffering to Russians and Ukrainians both...

    • @Jim-Tuner
      @Jim-Tuner 21 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      The closer the fighting was to Ukraine's 2014 defensive lines, the better the Ukrainians did. There were strongly fortified positions like advika which had been built up over a period of years. The more that fighting pushes west of those 2014 defenses, the weaker Ukraine's resistance gets.
      The Russian's abilities tactically on the offensive has also greatly improved. Ukraine is also gradually running out of frontline infantry. The total size of the Ukrainian army is still large, but the proportion of soldiers willing and able to fight as infantry in frontline positions is getting smaller and smaller.

    Here's some hindsight that nobody talks about: The initial commitment and disposition of Russian forces clearly shows that they were confident of success at Hostomel Airport and with their covert decapitation plan. Many analysts fooled themselves into thinking that Russia would not invade due to insufficient forces. It is also clear that everybody overestimated the competence of the Russians...especially the Russians.
    The Russian troops that invaded from the North thought they would be home for the weekend - and told that to all the Ukrainians they met. Yanukovych was supposed to fly into Hostomel airport and declare himself President again. The Russian FSB thought Zelensky would flee the capital. But just in case, they also had two Spetsnaz assassination squads already hiding in Kyiv ready to kill Zelensky, his family and members of government. The FSB had carefully selected and bribed Russian supporters to quickly take over key ministries and Oblasts. Their signal for action was Yanukovych (former Russian backed Ukrainian President) making his announcement. It didn’t go exactly as planned because someone had sold Putin’s plans to the Americans. Zelensky decided to stay and fight. Russian paratroopers had trouble capturing Hostomel airport because the Ukrainian army had been alerted at the last minute by Putin’s leaked plan and rushed to defend Hostomel Airport. Despite massive loss of life, elite Russian paratroopers finally secured the airport and it looked like Putin’s plan was going to work after all. The runway was damaged, but Yanukovych could still fly from Minsk by helicopter. When they tried to get Putin’s lap dog to Hostomel as planned, cowardly Yanukovych got cold feet at the last minute and refused to get on the helicopter. Without him to “claim power”, the whole thing fell apart and all the Russian FSB supporters were betrayed. They eventually joined Russian soldiers outside the city, surrendered or were captured. If Yanukovych hadn’t been such a coward, Kyiv might have fallen and the Oligarchs would be rolling in Ukrainian cash now. (I’ve always suspected it was Yanukovych himself who sold the plans to America. That little coward would sell his own mother for a few rubles! 😅)
    (the pro-Putin trolls and fanatics can ignore the comment as you will get no more replies from me - I am really sick of your incapacity to see the whole picture of this conflict)
