- Here is an Easy fix if you find yourself in a situation where you are unable to get your Chevy truck or SUV to shift back into park. In my case, the shift lock solenoid became detached and as a result, would Not allow me to shift the truck into park. If you can’t get the truck into park, then you can’t remove the keys which also kills your battery. So I removed the lower portion of the dashboard and simply reconnected the shift lock solenoid and that immediately fixed the problem. I also wrapped a zip tie loosely around it so that it would not pop off of there again.
This shift solenoid can ALSO Prevent you from being able to get your vehicle OUT of Park as well if the shift lock solenoid happens to pop off or go bad, so if you find yourself in the situation where your vehicle is Stuck In Park, this could also be the culprit.
Anyways, I just wanted to share this video in hopes that it helps.

So I’ve got this issues now but I made sure it’s connected and it still won’t go into park. I also bought a new shift lock solenoid and new wiring harness and still nothing help?
