+Markus L. (Flauschi) Thank you for your comment. Indeed this game is very hard to install and to play on a recent OS, even on XP, and it's more complicated when you want to record your gameplay. I have played it on Win95 with Virtual PC 2004. I have written a tutorial (in French) explaining how I have proceeded to run it perfectly well.
@@slipgatetourist4929 his links dont work anymore... this is the way i've run it on win10: You have to install it on a WinXP virtual machine, then you can move the installation folder to your Win10, and run Dark Earth using DXWnd (a compatibility program for old DirectX games). I think you need to change some settings in DxWnd, for Dark Earth to properly run, but I don't remember which ones... if anyone needs Dark Earth (english or german) or DXWnd, u can download it from my google drive if u want... If i recall when I tried a few years ago, you can run the music files with modplug tracker or something that plays tracker music. I can't remember the exact file formats, I just know the music Dark Earth uses are tracker files.

I have played it on Win95 with Virtual PC 2004. I have written a tutorial (in French) explaining how I have proceeded to run it perfectly well.
There is now a patch that makes it possible to run Dark Earth on a modern OS. Google:
"Peixoto's patches for a few old games" and you'll find it.
