Thank you for sharing your story Shane. The depression is definitely hard to deal with, but your words of encouragement to hang in there and things will get better are uplifting. Thank you.

I’ve had 5 ischemic strokes. I was aware of them when they were happening because the right side of my body went numb. One of them- the most significant- I was not aware of when it happened. I just woke up one day and the world was totally different. It felt like I was in a bizarre dream, like I was falling into madness. The whole world felt strange. My spatial-temporal awareness was altered. Doing ordinary things was difficult, like doing them in a mirror. I went to the ER. Many tests and an MRI later they found a stroke in the Fornix.
After that I have committed to a stroke recovery and life improvement plan of daily >140 BPM exercise, juggling, studying math, general reading, and eating healthy.

Thanks for sharing your story. I can only imagine how disorienting it must have been to experience such a shift in your awareness. It's inspiring to see how you've committed to your recovery with daily exercise, juggling, studying, and healthy habits. Keep up the amazing work-your dedication is a great example for others on the stroke recovery journey!

Ischemic heart attack is actually caused be lack of blood flow to the heart.
    IE; high blood pressure .
Happened to me, Kaiser medical insurance decided to cut off all pain management drugs. I have a ruptured L3L4 disk that is directlyl impinging on my central spinal nerve.
I had an ACTUALL ischemic heart attack due to extreme high blood pressure 221\112
Freaked out the emergency room personal after the saw the stats. And realized that I drove myself to the emergency room

My blood pressure was way higher than that. 300 over 179. I spent two weeks in the ICU and three and a half weeks of in patient rehab. Now I go to out patient rehab. I'm half way through my out patient rehab. I go once a week, still can't walk and talk very well and have very little function of my right arm. I keep making gains slowly. Four months after my stroke and it's really hard

Listen to the experts, avoid stress, educate yourself, take your meds, sleep well, change your diet, work your tail off, be patient and learn to love yourself. God does not make mistakes. Use this time away from your daily grind to reinvent yourself into the way you always wanted to be.
We all just got a do-over.
