I can honestly listen to you for hours and hours on end. Also every single time I am in a reading slump I marathon a few of your videos and then all of a sudden I have the urge to read a lot again. 😊
The queen of booktube is here! 💕 please make a video about how can we stay fit and slim and at the same time read more... please.. cause reading makes us keep seated mostly... :(
@@readbymalja I totally get that, I feel the same way. If you use running machines or cycling machines, you could set the mode so it's less physically straining but still quite challenging and have your book in front so you can read and walk/run/cycle at the same time?
Honestly you're so good at explaining where the books were lacking and definitely felt like valid reasoning as to why they were disappointing. Really goes to show a good concept isn't enough to make a good book
You are definitely not the only one who was disappointed in The Wicked Deep, it’s a repeated title that I keep seeing in everybody’s “Most Disappointed” list. I’m nervous about Spinning Silver now, I picked it up even though I wasn’t a huge fan of Uprooted. We shall see. Great video!
I completely agree about spinning silver. The changing narratives with no warning was super confusing and I felt the last two narrators they added in later were also unnecessary.
Your little flower ears are so adorable omg!! Sadly, I've heard so many people express how much they disliked The Wicked Deep, so I think I'm officially removing it from my TBR list. :/
I was also really let down by The Wicked Deep. I think *Summer of Salt* has all the elements that I liked from The Wicked Deep (atmospheric setting, witchy stuff) but improved greatly on all the problems of The Wicked Deep. Summer of Salt has a much more believable romance, in my opinion, and it actually deals with issues of consent.
I agree about Wicked Deep, I read it for the readathon as well and couldn't finish it. I thought IDA was good but that was this time last year so can't remember much about it now.
I had the same narrative issue with Spinning Silver that I put the book aside as at the time I didn't have the mental focus to figure out who was narrating and then never picked it back up again.
I was really disappointed by Wintersong and Uprooted this year. I was thinking of maybe trying Spinning Silver but it sounds similar to Uprooted from your review so I don’t think I’ll like it. Oh well 😭
I actually went into wicked deep with very low expectations so ended up really liking it but it's true about the consent, I never thought about it before
An amazing video, s always! I never comment (however I've read many books because of you, e. g. Red Rising ♥) , but I need to know: what lipstick are you wearing? It's gorgeous! :D
I really enjoyed the multiple perspectives in Spinning Silver. I liked the expanse of ages, different economic and social class as well as the “sides” of the conflicts. I thought that was important to the social commentary made throughout the story.
i am so sad you ddn't enjoy the wicked deep as much as you expected. I've heard mixed opinions about it but I still want to read it and see where I fall haha
I felt the same as you did with The Wicked Deep, but I actually loved Spinning Silver (it ended up being one of my favourite books of the year!) Either way, the points you make are fair and I understand why you didn't enjoy it as much as I did.
I read about half of Spinning Silver and then put it down. I thought that maybe I was just falling out of love with fantasy in general, but this video made me realize that maybe it just wasn't the best book. I had the same issue with the amount of perspectives, I just couldn't care.
Ida sounds like it has potential! Sorry you didn’t like Spinning Silver. I have seen Ace of Shades show up on quite a few disappointing lists, so I think I will probably stay away from that one, lol
It is very uncomfortable if sexual things have when possession is happening, especially if the girls are the protagonists and there is no mention of this. I liked Ace of Shades as well but there was more that could have been improvements
The most disappointing one for me is A visit from the Goon squad...I didn't even finish it it was so bad. It is honestly the first book in years I haven't finished because it was just overall bad
I had exactly the same feelings about Spinning Silver. I was looking forward to it soooooo much, and it ended up being my most disappointing book of the year. I loved City of Lies though! I had the same issues with the antagonists - Sam could have gone so much further with that imo - but I'm a sucker for political intrigue and just found it really addictive haha.
Great video! Please be aware that the moment the person that scares you and the loud noise of it may trigger viewers who may have anxiety. Just a caption will do 😊 looking forward to the next one!
Oh my goodness, I didn't even consider this I'm so sorry! I'm going to include a trigger warning at the start of the description, thanks for letting me know!
your lipstick is perfect ❤️
I can honestly listen to you for hours and hours on end. Also every single time I am in a reading slump I marathon a few of your videos and then all of a sudden I have the urge to read a lot again. 😊
SAME !!! 😊
Same! It makes me wanna read for a whole day!
I absolutely love your hair! Thanks for the opinions as well, I like to hear peoples differences
your headband is so adorable
Happy New Year!! Lol when he screamed, I jumped. Didnt expect to get a jump scare from a booktube video 😂😂😂

If you like audio books, that could probably help with being active while reading at the same time!
@@mtl199813 you're right... but I love reading physical books.. :p

Your hair is adorable! And I tried reading Ace of Shades but really could not get into it and ended up DNF'ing it.
Really interesting to hear your thoughts on these, especially Ida and spinning silver. Also the interruption at the end made me laugh
I swear you look like an angel. It's not fair
Ahhh was so sad to hear about Spinning Silver! Interesting to hear that there were changes from the ARC that I read to the finished copy.
Ahh! I literally jumped when he screamed 😂😂I was going to read a few of those books but you've convinced me not to! 😆😍Thanks so much💘

Ahh I loved this. Will you also be doing a most anticipated for 2019?
Your little flower ears are so adorable omg!!
Sadly, I've heard so many people express how much they disliked The Wicked Deep, so I think I'm officially removing it from my TBR list. :/
Loved your in-depth analysis
If there were indications of who the POV characters were in Spinning Silver it’d make the book sooooo much better.
Is she going by Kaz now I’m so confused
"Caz" is a nickname for Catrina (Catriona). It's one of those funny Aussie slang things :)
@@megans.224 Ahhh thank you
Please please please tell me that lip color/brand!!

Agreed and on the wicked deep why would you still love the murder ghost who killed your brother and was lying to you? Summer of salt was better
I hadn’t read any of these books but interesting to hear your take on them!

The "ACE OF SHAAADES" from Alex was the greatest. XD
🎵The Ace of Shades!🎵 😂😂😂 That cracked me up

Happy new year to you.....
May you will read more good books in 2019
Sad about wicked deep and ace of shades :(
Awh I’m sad that ace of shades didn’t make it for you. I got an e-arc for that book and really enjoyed it! I see what you mean though
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼yessssss I love these videos!!!
I really enjoyed Ace of Shades, but can really see your point of view 😊 Disappointing book for me was Caraval!
ReadWriteZoe I completely agree with you. Loved Ace of Shades, hated Caraval.
"Ida" kindq sounds like Life is Strange.
I agree with you on the wicked deep, I just felt disappointed when I finished it.
😂😂 That scared me! I’m walking on the treadmill as I’m watching this and I had to grab the handrail thing cause it startled me enough to stumble! 😂
Happy New Year's reads. :)
Aww sad to see that you didn't enjoy spinning silver that much

Alex scared me to death!
Was not expecting that jumpscare lmao definitely got me... PSA: Read the description
Feliz 2019 que la pases muy bien.
It’s a good year if there isn’t a huge stack of books in the thumbnail XD
It is very uncomfortable if sexual things have when possession is happening, especially if the girls are the protagonists and there is no mention of this. I liked Ace of Shades as well but there was more that could have been improvements
D: Kaz, why u go into books expecting so much from them? :(
That jump scare was spooky and mean! If I wanted spooks, I would go watch early Pewdiepie videos
tfw 2 out of 5 books were ones we did for book club sad days ahahah
You look so pretty. :)
OMG I GOT SCARED!!! MY HEART CANT TAKE THAT GEEZZZZZ 😂😂
Baakaa_ time stamp please
Great, now I’m not going to be able to look at my copy of Ace of Shades without hearing Motörhead 😂
Eh I liked the wicked deep

100% about the Wicked Deep... everyone said it was so amazing and atmospheric... but i was just bored!!!
