- Huckberry and Chaco are proud to present (people) of water, a Gnarly Bay film directed by Forest Woodward. For thousands of years, outrigger canoes have connected diverse cultures and people around the world. A living allegory for the connection between whitewater and saltwater, (people) of waterfollows the story of Rob Prechtl, a member of the USA Men’s Raft team, as he and the team embark on a journey to learn both the craft of outrigger paddling and a deeper journey of self-discovery.
this needs soooooo much more recognition
I didn't know I needed this as much as I did.
I cant believe that this content is free
Man, I'm so grateful I subscribe to this wonderful channel.
This is incredible! One of the best videos I've ever found on TH-cam..
Really wonderfully shot. Awesome stuff.
Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful!
Beautiful video. They need to come full circle, have Johnny and some of the island paddlers go to Colorado and train and race in a raft. Love the connection between the oceans and the rivers. Have raced many years on both.
Napali Coast!!! awsome vidio!!! hope you guys had a chance to hike the tails?
This hit so hard. Im portuguese by nationality but raised on Oahu, Hawaii. My ancestors came to Hawaii from the Azores to work the cane fields. I can never be Hawaiian, but i grew up local. The heart will always be attached. I found this channel tonight and am Bingeing it. This channel needs more attention.
Side note: closed caption gets the guy speaking pidgin so wrong its funny!
How does this only have this many likes and comments? Great and beautiful piece.
Totally underrated...
Why am i crying?
Beautiful.
Beautiful! Just what I needed to help me recharge. "I lost myself in the struggle of the ocean."
more love more life

woow
Robert Puakea . . . wea you at? You supposed to be in this vid with your dad & Johnny!
Aloha everyone!
Regarding Wether this channel 'deserves' more attention..heres my view. The vistas, land-water shots are heart tendering gorgeous, the subject matter potentially rich, yet it falls short at the level of presentation. Theres a lack of gore..& then maybe heads will turn..but it needs more guts. Fancy gear isn't enough
This guy got invited to Hawaii to paddle a family heirloom and do a traditional race around the island, and he thinks he's not a water person yet?
What do you have to do, be able to breathe water?
Just say man….waterman is the word! Get over it people!
