    What a great teacher. I don't know if his funeral some day will be in a stadium with thousands of drummers paying tribute, but I do know that, whatever the size, the eulogy will start with: "...we are all here to honor one of the greatest drum teachers in the world, but before we get started, a link to the metronome app is at the bottom of your programs...."

    DUBS is AWESOME... Darren is a super nice guy and really treats his customers right. And not to forget Tara...she's also great.....and funny. :-) I was going to attend that clinic so sad it couldn't happen. BTW, I was going to let you know I am the guy who asked the 'practice pad' question when you had the podcast with Mike Dawson that caused you two guys to actually for one disagree with each other. I smile whenever I think of it. Have a great visit with Darren.

  • @PezrulezHaakon
    @PezrulezHaakon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I might be wrong, but I think you did a similar but much easier version of this a couple of years ago. It evolved around a paradiddle too, or a 5 or 6-stroke roll, with up beats on hihat. Can't remember.
    I remember I tried a lot to get it down, but it didn't work.
    This is even harder. This really kicked my brain to the curb.

    Is the video at 5:16 actually exclusively your audio recording? I'm playing it over and over and the snare sound doesn't match either the sheet music or what I see your hands doing (granted the frame rate might be hiding something and the camera angle moves multiple times). It sounds like there is just straight 16ths on snare layered on top of the entire thing? Was that added in post? Regardless, great exercise. Thanks for the video!
