doveoo5 Hey Dove, Thanks for the very kind words and I'm glad my videos have helped you, that's why I make them. As far as bullies go, I honestly can't think of any that have tried to mess with me, I think they realize that would be a mistake, If you are referring to my sporadic output of videos, it's is simply a matter of time and creative inspiration. Lately it seems to be a little more difficult to get the two to co-operate with each other at the same time.
I will try to pump out videos on a more regular basis, but I can't make any promises.
ScrollSawParadise, I was referring to your apologies. You keep apologizing for being boring. That. in my humble opinion, is silly. It can be hard to learn a new skill. It is made more difficult when one has a "passing knowledge" of that skill. I have watched several "tutorials" on how to use my yard-sale-special scroll saw. I am very grateful to you for every detail. I had not been previously advised about buffering my piece against chatter nor about prepping the blades... etc. ... Thank you. Please, DO NOT "pump out" videos. Please, give (all of us novices) your usual, joyful and exemplary demonstrations of a loved craft.

This is amazing!!! The information given throughout this video was extremely helpful and I can tell you that as a beginning woodworker, the tips that were given were greatly appreciated and by no means boring at all! (Of course, we are always our greatest critics and the humility you show throughout your videos is another reason why your work is all that much more appreciated I'm sure).
I know this was posted some time ago, but that's the great thing about videos like this- they serve as great general starting points for beginners such as myself and it's a great feeling to know that the information is out there if you search for it- because wonderful people such as yourself are willing to take the time to teach and expose others to methods they might not know just quite yet. Your videos are much appreciated and I can't thank you enough for posting this playlist for this video series.

What a wonderful find. Bob I have taken a CNC pattern of a Bilby to scroll saw. It doesn't provide any suggestions about the setting out the direction of the grain for each piece. Do you have any tips about this? My starting point has been to view images of a real Bilby to see if I could get some ideas from that. I look forward to learning from your videos. Many Thanks

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one intimidated by Intarsia. I have a small Angel pattern by Kathy Wise I think I'm going to try. The pattern doesn't tell me how thick the wood should be. I have some 1/4in thick pieces of various kinds. Is there any rules or advice you could give on how to determine the thickness you should use? Thank you.
+Curtis Mellen Hey Curtis, Welcome to the awesome world of Intarsia, Intarsia needs thicker wood in order to get good definition when shaping your pieces. Most Intarsia use 3/4" thick wood of various varieties. You can always sand it down to make lower pieces or add a riser piece underneath it to raise it up. Hope this helps, Bob

bob my name is mike i just got my scroll saw less than 2 weeks ago do you think is to early for intarsia i figured any type of cutting is practice i get board just doing practice patterns. the other question is i am trying a project its an eagle however were the head meets the body there is about 10 points one after another i am not sure if its my inexperience or if there is a way that this needs to be cut or these type cute are not common for intarsia thank you for taking time to show us how you do your work.
Michael LaPointe Mike the best practice, once you are comfortable with the basics, is making projects. Cut out your Eagle however you feel you need to do it. There is no right or wrong way. Use the knowledge you have gained to make the cuts when and where you need to make them. The more projects you make, the better you will get at making them. Good luck and make some projects.
