- The term 'legend' isn't a title that can be thrown around lightly. But today's collection of cars is well-deserving of that very title. Today, Liam explores the incredible Ford Heritage Collection at the Heritage centre in the birthplace of Ford UK, Essex. The Ford Heritage Centre is known for its massive collection of over 100 unique, iconic and incredibly rare blue oval cars. In this video, we'll be exploring a selection of those cars, with some very famous cars along the way.

One thing they don’t have, is a MK1 RS1600. My grandad had 1 of 200 aluminium block ones. I suspect all are non-existent today.

I know! We hadn't realised we skipped it until after the edit. We'd been looking at it moments prior too.
Worked as an apprentice in 72 at Ford's Trade school in Harold Hill under Ron Staughton who was the driving force behind the heritage centre a few of the cars where kept here. They got run up and driven occasionally including a Gt40.. Happy days
I own 14 fast Escorts, including a original mk1 Lotus, two Rs 1800 mk2's and even have a mk2 Rs2000 X pack. Unfortunately they are all 1/18 scale models but nevertheless I still love them all. Great viewing. More of the same please.

We know, we realised after we'd filmed the footage we'd completely missed it which is a shame as we were talking about it moments earlier. Sadly we didn't have too much time available to film the entire collection as we were focused on FEV1 so it slipped our mind.

I used to see some of these cars regularly at the Beam MOT station when I had my car there.....I was lucky enough to see a sapphire and escort cossie come in at the same time
They're such a good collection of cars and even better that they're all kept in working order.
24/12/22 there is Monte Carlo Escort Cosworth same colour for sale today at KGF Peterborough with 24,000 miles on for £105,000 !!!!! Crazy hey. Who’d have thought an escort with 200 odd bhp would be worth £100k. Mad.

That heritage centre has been covered by loads of car related shows.
I been to the ford heritage centre 3 times when it was at the old shed in Dagenham, I love the collection but I feel by changing to the new location it has now lost some of its charm .the old building had so much charm character and warm ,if you listened carefully you could still here the plant churning out anglias and cortinas .the old building had so much charisma it was like stepping back in time .I'm lucky to own a 1988 ford sierra cosworth and as a Dagenham born and breed lad ford has played a massive part in shaping my life and love of cars .

I couldn´t see a MK I Transit in there, which i am pretty sure of is one of the most important cars for Ford UK... maybe it´s got it´s own museum. But the RS 1800 there is actually a replica... WTW567S was sold to a private person in 1978 or 79. I`m told that it reapeared again and was crashed by a racing driver so it hade to be reshelled again. That is often the lives of racing/rally cars to be reshelled but without it´s WIN # it´s only a replica. Anyway... Great cars and a thank´s for the upload.

It a great collection, fantastic to see the performance models but it would be great to some their lower spec mainstream stuff, Granada’s, Cortina’s etc , That crusader looked worth a look. Great vid though.

If I recall they do actually have a couple, but they're in a different place at the moment. This was probably only half of their entire heritage fleet!
I'm 99% sure that mk1 Mexico was in a showroom in Derbyshire for years and years before it was at the heritage center....as my dad used to take me to see it as a kid
It's more than possible! They do ship press fleet around for showroom PR.
I used to walk down and look at them on my lunch break .. when I worked at Fords Dagenham.

Why the big noise about the mileage?
A couple of reasons I suppose, main one is that some are nice low mileage. But the second reason is that the majority of those miles are for reviews and content so the cars have actually been used how they should be.
It's nice to have some valuable Fords that are driven as intended, would you agree?

This man knows nothing at all, walks past the most famous mk1 escort ever FEV 1H & calls it just a mexico. Then calls a Cosworth a Cosworf in red, not correctly Magenta red. More interested in how many miles they have done than anything else.
Turned off after that, its a shame that someone is lucky enough to see these cars in the flesh, yet reports on them in such a poor uninformed manner.
Perhaps that's why in the video we mention we have a dedicated piece on Hannu Mikkola's London to Mexico winning Escort. And apologies that we do not know exact paint name codes for every ford car produced, Stuart! Maybe next time.

This isn't the full collection in fairness. At a guess I'd say this was 2/3rds of their full bulk.

It's the correct pronunciation for Spanish and US audiences. We have a large US demographic on our channel so we adapt wording accordingly in some cases.
However, if we're talking solely UK pronunciation, it's more like 'Pyoo-muh' as I feel like you're referring to in this case.

This is an amazing collection, the problem is that Ford will never have another garage like this, the reason?… the crap they are producing today and their complete disregard for their history, the reason for this tragedy is that moron Jim Farley who is leading the company to the cliffs edge

problem you have is this all english vehicle it doesnt include any of the australian cars that made history for ford.they are only escorts
