However, as a producer and lyricist myself, I'll drop my 2 cents:
- Since you're just starting out, one thing I can say will help you a lot is picking a beat and trying to recreate it. This will help you to figure out and understand how that beat was made, and each time you do this with a new beat you're likely to learn techniques. When you come across a sound or technique you don't understand/can't recreate, google that technique specifically to figure it out.
- Second thing is; watch plenty of tutorials on youtube for your DAW and the specific genres you want to make. Follow along with the tutorials pausing at each step to do it yourself.
- Lastly, it's annoying to hear but truthfully the only way to improve and learn what you wanna learn is to keep at it. Get up, make a beat, learn something new, research, and repeat the next day. There truly is no shortcut to finding your own rhythm and style, you just gotta go through the motions and each time you make a new beat you will improve bit by bit. If there's anything in your area, taking a course on music production can help accelerate your growth, but it's definitely not 100% essential, and you will still have to put the work in.
