It’s wild too because I’m new around here and have never seen Merchant as anything but a D&D channel. He got me wanting to check out Magic again though frfr
Merchant in his video about character creation: Be careful about wierd voices that might destroy your throat. John in the very next campaign: Hold my beer
I listen to you guys all the time, as a fellow DM and player let me just say your adventures are inspiring, love all the individuals and the characters you play. For me this is more entertaining than critical role. Craig you need to get back into DMing and finish Curse of Strahd, you are a great DM. Connor, you’re fantastic as well!
Agree that I enjoy this much more than CR. I really think the cast Merchant got together does a great job of balancing when they break characters with light bather. While i love the cast of CR it can really breaks the immersion how quickly/harshly they break character even during major scenes. Also, if watching and not on podcast the use of Roll20 is great for the viewer....While i appreciate the minis CR still uses its not easy to see the visual layout most of the time
I love LOVE how you introduce PCs. It's such a crucial first step for getting things started and so many people skip over it. I don't know how many sessions I've done where it's three or four sessions in before we realize we never even asked for each other's names in game.
i like how the players rolled elderly people instead of youthful folks, amazing edit - gnomes played and voiced well are fantastic, it is the very best edit edit - if vmg says 'like hey scoob' at any point it'll be appropriate
LOVE the new characters! Super excited for this tale and the return to frost wind dale! Always trust VMG and Syx to make the most interesting of characters ❤️
Thank you for this great content! It's been only a few weeks ago that I stumbled over your D&D Podcast "Guildgates & Goblins" and I love it. It's the ideal thing to hear while lying in the bed for an eternity and pretend to be asleep so my little daughter does the same. Your content is awesome and keeps me awake in time of desperate need! 😃
Lavinias' voice for Solaris is awesome! Also a note: Gnome voices will be high and screw with the player's throat for the rest of their lives after the campaign. Remember this, John
Yoooo I used to watch you all the time when you streamed Gwent. I just went looking for anyone playing this as I'm gonna run it next week and found this video! So glad to be able to watch you play it.
Loving your content, definitely one of if not my favourite D&D streams out there :) I'm watching some backlog of your old d&d streams as well. Makes me want to play more myself as well. Atm i am a DM which is cool, but i do miss just playing xD
The Party: A high-pitched gnome, an elderly woman with stained teeth, a devilishly handsome tiefling, a talking white owl that signs contracts with her claw, and a haughty half-elf that picks on vertically challenged characters.
I have to hold off on watching Icewindale proper as to not spoil the campaign I am currently a part of, so im glad this is here so I can still hangout and watch everyone play some dnd.
While it's a shame for the pretty graphics, I don't think that's what most people are here for. Biggest loss is the group making faces realising the consequences of their actions.
i walways love thyrixsyx's characters (can we just write "36" to make it easier?), he loves to RP, but not serious moody RP, mostly just fun ridiculous characters, of course he plays tons of jank on mtg too hahaha, so i guess it all makes sense!
I enjoyed this a lot, and given that there were no combat, it fitted well with only being audio. It is always a pleasure to watch (listen to) the group. Always nice DMing/storytelling, love the group's roleplay, a shame that Greg is always a little withdrawn, character-wise. I hope Jonathans voice will hold through the many hours. @Merchant, how much character background development do you do with the players. I have always wondered, since eg. Lavinias often seems to have something mystic going on, which is of course always interesting. I also see a pattern - if you look on all the character choices for each player throughout all your campaigns, and how they prefer combat, roleplay, additional details, etc. A great job on getting the group up running again... this time with more adventures to... possible end up dead somewhere in the north of Faerûn. 😊
If you literally listen to the intro you will realise this is the continuation of Icewind Dale, the most recent episode of which ended in a TPK so literally requires a full restart, which will eventually be this party going to the dale.
Candlekeep is amazing so far! Also if you haven't seen, I've started a series talking about D&D topics on my channel, go check it out!
Merchant is becoming a dnd channel, you know I'm not mad about that tbh
I decided to quit mtg a while back, so
I’m happy to get to keep up with my favorite creator from that life
The best outcome
It’s wild too because I’m new around here and have never seen Merchant as anything but a D&D channel. He got me wanting to check out Magic again though frfr
I'm for one am here because of it. I managed to NOT start on the MTG craze some 30 years ago and haven't really given it any interest since.
@@bardoorble6045 quit six months ago... i could not be happier!
Leave it to John to roll out the gnome rune knight like a boss.
Just you wait, Wally is a... character.
It’s the best thing ever
I never realized how much I needed VMG's gnome voice in my life
I channeled my best Oz from Craig
Merchant in his video about character creation: Be careful about wierd voices that might destroy your throat.
John in the very next campaign: Hold my beer

I also agree that these D&d streams are much more enjoyable than critical role. These are the videos I can’t wait to see every week!

John’s gnome voice is everything I needed today thank u very much
Love all the love for Wally :D
Its his punishment for the IWD party XD
Me: Yay more d&d
Merchant: No video
Me: Still looks like d&d to me!
WAIT! VMG IS THE FIGHTER CLASS IM PLAYING! HYPE! EXCITED!
You are so welcome
Always such hype when D&D content drops. The cast is wonderful as ever
i like how the players rolled elderly people instead of youthful folks, amazing

Many thanks:)
I don't typically watch streams like this, but you and your players are pretty entertaining to watch.
Can't wait to watch part two later.
Can't wait for Wally to bump into his colleague Professor Godfrey Goldspark on his next visit to Candlekeep
I was yelling at my screen about the clue that Alias and Craig missed and was so proud of John, I shed a tear!

Great fun to see role-playing from such a different set of starting points (as compared to a long running campaign "at home").
That was awesome. Great session. Actually had tears in my eyes with the exchange between Agatha and Lucas 👍😭
Lavinias' voice for Solaris is awesome! Also a note: Gnome voices will be high and screw with the player's throat for the rest of their lives after the campaign. Remember this, John
Jokes on you. That’s my normal voice
I see Merchant DnD video, I hit like
I love you Wally. 😍 VMG is such a funny guy. Lots of chuckles from this campaign so far.
Yoooo I used to watch you all the time when you streamed Gwent. I just went looking for anyone playing this as I'm gonna run it next week and found this video! So glad to be able to watch you play it.
Turtle back soon. This is a big Pog, as people nowadays say!
This was fantastic, I can't wait for the next episode!
The guy narrarating the gnome reminds me of ants-in-my-eyes Johnson from Rick and morty...great job by all
love the new DnD content!!!
hell yeah i love all of the new dnd content
Amazing, love it. Just getting jealous, because my dnd stuff froze in bc of covid and exams. nobody wants to play online... but luckily i have this
Loving your content, definitely one of if not my favourite D&D streams out there :)

Anywhere where you can listen to Craig do a foreign accent is a good campaign 😍
Really loving the new characters. If anything happens to Wally, I will be immensely sad.
Evertime time Wally speaks i expect Rick to answer him!
The Party: A high-pitched gnome, an elderly woman with stained teeth, a devilishly handsome tiefling, a talking white owl that signs contracts with her claw, and a haughty half-elf that picks on vertically challenged characters.
Damn. I love this campaign already but I wasn't prepared how quickly that became creepy
Very very cool adventure so far, engrossing as always!
And excited for the news at the end, hopefully the extra Nat 1s to come won't be too painful!
Spectacular! One of my favorites! Great job, team!
Great episode. Love this and the lack of video is not a problem. Looking forward to the next one!
I loved this episode! can't wait to see (listen?) the next!
I have to hold off on watching Icewindale proper as to not spoil the campaign I am currently a part of, so im glad this is here so I can still hangout and watch everyone play some dnd.
Glad to see some new content and hopefully this is a shift in content toward more DnD
I’m already hype
Oh hell yea, more DnD with Merchant and the gang, I'm so ready! Also Craig's intro always kills me :')
This was the most entertainig thing I've seen/heard all week
I was hoping for some Candlekeep from you. YES!
Great episode! Excited for alwaysturtle rejoining the cast. Hopefully she doesn’t holy smite the great reader into oblivion.
Ugh can't watch this for a few days... Saved to watch later and liked. Thanks for the content!
That intro was so soothing. The voice...damn
Another D&D campaign?! Excellent!
1:46:40 a lot of in and out traffic. I pictured an in-n-out burger place.....
Fantastic!
Ty sir more, Craig pls
Baldur's Gate music
I love that people recognise Planescape Torment music even now, I love Deionarra's theme!
The moment Planescape Torment music hit at the entrance into Vermillion.. stopped me into my tracks
Very enjoyable, see ya in two weeks.
While it's a shame for the pretty graphics, I don't think that's what most people are here for.
Biggest loss is the group making faces realising the consequences of their actions.
So much of my visual roleplay gone to the wind
@@AKASyx I know you usually put a lot of work into that side of it. F in chat
Looking forward to the day Merchant makes an NPC with an American accent, just so I can hear it!
John had me cracking up 😂 well done!
Was John's ladder there? That's all I need to know.
I have become ladder
@@jonathanallport8346 this now all makes sense. Isn't this the first sign of the apocalypse?

Great video
Nice I missed G&G
thats a deep voice

The one thing i will say is Connagh always gives as much free reign as is normal to make who ever I want. Perhaps you should watch his DM series :D
Love all your content and the Pc's on campaigns sub to all with content but miss Turtle, hope she is doing well!
You might like what we say at the end of this episode haha, Turtle is back in 2 weeks time!
@@MerchantTV Well I feel stupid...LOL, still watching at this point. Thanks and keep the DnD content coming. Welcome back in two weeks Turtle!
Let's go moar DND
I know this isn't supposed to be horror, but for like 50% of the episode I was like "👀wtf is gonna happen next tho👀"
Wally sounds kind of like Shaggy from Scooby-Doo.
A few moments in this i heard Kermit the frog and shaggy from scooby doo.
Here is a dumb DnD item idea a Mask of many Masks: the mask only changes to a different mask.
Hype hype hype
Quick, someone start a band called "Probable Profitable Mine"! 😁
Ver-MAY-lin
Dude, I love you and your content, but can we please finish a campaign before suddenly stopping and starting another one
If you literally listen to the intro you will realise this is the continuation of Icewind Dale, the most recent episode of which ended in a TPK so literally requires a full restart, which will eventually be this party going to the dale.
Algorithm V1
Do these happen live somewhere before they go up here?
Nope! We record us playing, not stream :)
Utterly entertaining, even without all your pretty faces.
Might be the best campaign ever but if I can't see the people I'm not interested. Sorry :(
This is fixed for Episode 2 which just came out!
No copying allowed and everything is the sole property of Candlekeep? So what you're telling me is that it's just a big NFT gallery. What assholes lol
Agatha sounds hot...lol
