Im late to the vid, but I wanted to say thank you for the monster nostalgia hit. The first spot was my playground as a kid, and I am like 80% sure I know that first tortoise, this is like 15 years ago, glad they are still around

Your website has been an amazing resource for me. It's always the first place I go when I want to compare different localities of the same species.

Cheers Wes, have some solid trips/videos coming up in December so should be plenty of Bitis in those videos.

No dumping signs here usually mean junk to flip. Hinged backs, legit finds. Wild they're under the rocks like that. 9:11 🤣 Wow! That would be a sweet find ---> 𝘉𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘥𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴 seems like our montane rattlesnake species here in AZ which are smaller. 12:10 preach. Legit few days of herping. Nice variety. Beetroot and falafel? Taste good?

Thanks for checking it out. Busy working on the bushveld and cut videos should be good. The dwarf Bitis remind me a lot of the smaller rattlesnakes and everyone always wants to see em. Ha the vegan beetroot and falafel is always a winner.

@@TyronePingHerpingSouthAfrica Been doing the vegan thing a while now, beetroot and falafel might stretch my taste buds a bit.

I live in Florida, but I'm going to Africa in May. Johannesburg, Capetown, Victoria Falls, Namibia, Zambia, etc. Would love to have a guide to help find reptiles and anything else in south Africa if you're interested! Not sure if my girlfriend will be as excited about it, but maybe we could spare a few hours in between penguins and rhinos to look for puff adders and chameleons? Let me know if you'd be interested. I'll return the favor and show you some Florida alligators if you make it this way! I used to keep a puff adder and gaboon viper many years ago. Would love to see one in the wild! Also on my list is the famous honey badger!

Awesome, I’m based in Cape Town and Chameleons are pretty easy to see here almost everyday. Will be an easy feat to turn up some Cape Town herps if you’ve got some time. Sure we can make it happen. 🤙

Nice horned adder and tortoises. I didn’t know that hingebags exist in South Africa as well. I thought they exist only in the North.
I was intrigued on what purple food means. I didn’t find any answers by searching.

Many of the Hingebacks live on the Eastern Parts of South Africa. The purple food is actually just beetroot hummus.
