My heart is breaking. I so appreciate Cornel West's vision, passion, INTELLIGENCE. There are things he's not saying, some bias? Hurt feelings? I was all for him from the get go, and even after Jill started to run. But then he took a turn, soured?😢. I wish, naively? Cornel with his power and "followers"would unite with Jill and, yes, the green party with all its flaws(!) Please, Dr West, please reconsider. ❤ Thank you Jordon, for addressing the hard stuff with these two awesome leaders. I envision a day soon that they will come together to collaborate to replace the corrupt system!

💯 I think what we need to address is Cornell 's sense of "out group" and rejection. It's something internal, confidence which needs to be restored. It's important to acknowledge his concerns. I don't doubt that there are microaggressions, I think he should be more open about what he experienced and how he felt. Maybe not in public, but to somebody, before he does an interview like this. This was not a good look for him, I honestly feel very sorry for him.
@@eveastardust3747 don't feel sorry for him....he's probably deeply offended by something that happened that he's trying to keep under wraps. I still would vote for him...Stein makes me feel a little uneasy and seems a bit untrustworthy. It's not just about Gaza. Her main platform should be (imo) crazy high taxes ending for all of us and LIVING WAGES. We need a better Congress ofc...and I think if we did West would do a better job with the working class folks. I see him being president and maybe someone like her as VP. But that's a fantasy that will never happen :(
Jordan should have asked West why he didn't participate in the independent party debate even though he was invited. Independent candidates should be looking for every venue to get their ideas out there.
Because that would literally not be about him alone. That’s why and it’s also why his campaign a joke. Nobody should support him after the fool he’s made of himself.
@@rafaelw8115 It's not the choice of third parties. They should be included in the debates with the Dems and Reps, but have been intentionally left out of them. The third party debates at least give those of us who pay attention a chance to assess the candidates ourselves. They were also run far more fairly and professionally than that catastrophe of a debate about golf between Trump and Biden.
What has happened to Cornel West. He was always such a great example of Christianity and also quite intellectual regarding our troubling government obsessed with hegemony. I don't understand his attack on Jill Stein. He should be teaming up with her for the revolution which is way past due. Dr.West called Obama a profound disappointment, which he certainly was for me, but then many say Obama's hands were tied.
The guy cheerleaded the destroying of Yugoslavia and the assassination of Gaddafi, Africa's greatest leader and constantly backed imperialist Dems...he has always been kinda sus....I fully expect him to drop out and endorse Kamala rather than any third party candidates. He's a fraud sorry...I used to have a lot of respect for him too but after a while I came around to all his faults and suspicion of him being controlled opposition
You don't understand Dr West defending himself against Stein because you were not paying close enough attention to Dr West. Also, for the first two years of his administration, Obama had a Democratic party majority in the senate and the house, he could have passed any progressive legislation he wanted but, he didn't do that because as the late activist Glen Ford said, "Obama is the more effective evil".
I walked away from my volunteer role in the Cornel West campaign when, in the span of less than 5 months: he jumped into bed with two different parties without doing any due diligence beforehand only to ghost them with little more than the equivalent of a text after these parties had gone into full gear on his behalf to get him ballot access; he hired Peter Daou as his campaign manager then refused to address our concerns about it; he bungled the Jimmy Dore interview irreparably damaging any chance of attracting the white working class voters he claimed he wanted to reach and disregarding peoples' valid concerns about the pandemic response; THEN after ditching the Green party he went on Tim Black and disparaged everyone questioning his lack of a campaign strategy as "morally and spiritually impoverished." He refused to answer questions by email or on Zoom calls speaking to these concerns, only to tell us third-hand on Tim Black's channel (multiple times) what he really thinks of us. Nope. I wasted years of my life on Bernie Sanders for nothing. I wasn't about to do it again for Cornel West.
She’s not lying about you she’s talk sense , Brother west need to stop taking everything so personal and get over himself ,,,, I guess no one is perfect
I voted for Jill Stein and am proud I did so! I have yet to hear a cogent argument from Professor West about why Jill Stein is a "racist" and so on. .. It is not really right to slander another without such a modicum of proof! 🙏📿

I just came home from an action where several Greens are involved (including me), and nearly every one of the participants signed a petition to get Jill Stein on the ballot. One did not, because he signed a petition for Cornel West, but a lot of people saw these interviews, and saw Jill being diplomatic and conciliatory, while Cornel bashed her, and claimed she was a racist and in it for herself, without providing any evidence for his claims. Jill is not racist, and she was persuaded by others to run, because she's extremely articulate, and experienced in campaigning. She was more than happy to have Cornel run as a Green.
In order to collaborate you need to have belief and trust. What in the world would make cornel west join forces with individuals who personally attack his character, who have never cared to address racism, who he has racist experiences with. He would be better to just join democrats if that’s what he’s willing to accept. Reflect on that
Cornel West complains about Stein’s ad hominem, “personal ambition,” while he refers to Stein’s “addiction” to running for president. This sort of mutual disrespect within the left is toxic for the movement and deeply disappointing. It’s hard to be hopeful when this is how the best of us behave.

I LOVE Dr West. I do not understand the attitude of indignation towards coalition building. I don’t love Jill stein, but I appreciate her willingness to put herself out there, participate in third party debates, and suggest broad coalition building. I think the libertarian and the greens should actually merge. There is a decent amount of crossover within social issues and anti war sentiment. Sure there are tons of things they don’t agree on, but isn’t standing against the kleptomaniac uniparty enough to unite the rest of us?!? Working towards building something different.
You’re 100% correct. The only way to have an alternative to the 2 party system is for a bunch of third parties to join together. They can separate again into more parties once they have established a real presence. The way they are currently doing things the alternative candidates are a sideshow that the 2 party system manipulates to their advantage.

Maybe because she had already submitted the required number of signatures and the state corruptly doubled the amount of signatures needed to keep her off the ballot. She fell short, but still came close after they pulled the rug out from beneath her feet and that’s quite impressive. Of course the DNC will try any dirty trick to keep progressives off the ballot. Thank goodness people are waking up to the corruption of the two parties
No hate to Prof West, but he's just wrong about this and it's heartbreaking. This isn't personal. Jill Stein, through the Green Party, is the largest, most organized, best known, and best funded of our options. We need to consolidate support.
Even if it is personal, suck it up and do what's right! He needs to reconcile his personal beef with Jill Stein or if it's that bad, come clean to what really happened or just stop talking about it. Very telling that Cornel ignores Jill's suggestion for a conference to try and unite and instead jumps into stupid personal drama, lying about what she said. He didn't ignore that. He said he is all for that sort of thing, but to suggest that he is running out of personal ambition is an affront to his character and purpose. I don't know how any of this suggest "shes clearly more of a leader than Cornel".
@diracspinors Her continuing supports a viable long term 3rd party. If she gets 5% of the votes the Candidate running in 2028 will have automatic Ballot access in EVERY STATE and $20 million in Federal non-corrupt funding. If West gets 5% its does nothing for the future, in 2028 Democrats and Republicans will have their intact Monopoly. States are reluctant to give West Ballot access because the petition gathering is done by RNC backed PACs at ACTUAL Trump Rallies telling g Trump Voters that West will pull votes from the DNC and Jill Stein. So his signatures are from people intentionally trying to stop free and fair elections. It's sad that people still stand behind him. He was made fully aware Jill was working on his campaign BECAUSE he was part of a movement toward a viable 4rd party but then he left almost sabotaging the Green Party Ballot lines. His stance on that is just ridiculous. He's running for him and him only not for the future and what's best for the Majority, this is obvious because he has no interest in looking at it objectively. My take is that she could have chosen a different term other than personal ambitions and may well apologize for using such a term. Cornell seemed offended that she intimated that it would be him who should step down because she has much more ballot access. Yet, Jill Stein specifically told both of her competitors to drop out of the race and suggested voters not vote for them based on her conditions that they appear at her preference. These things are for voters to decide. Candidates need to focus on their campaign and ability to deliver. They need to be able to communicate a clear strategic platform. This should include not just campaign promises and interests, but the administration of the country on the whole we are sorely missing.
Nope. If he campaigned on reparations and criminal justice reform alone, he’d have gotten significant grass roots Black support. However, he chose to focus on Gaza, Jazz metaphors and tapping into a well of previously earned goodwill that has largely dried up.
The West campaign has been nothing but a vehicle to embarrass himself. Glad I didn't make a donation.
Same here. I thought about but decided to watch
Donated and donating again.
@@bwiblies yes I see it now after initially giving $500.00 at the very start with Greens.
I even have his t shirt with the green silhouette of him.
I've been solid Green since 1996.... dem exited in 1972. Never R.
@@HernandogreensOrgglad u donated Green and not him personally. His campaign is in shambles.
It’s pretty goddamn scummy of West to bring up Dhoruba’s call for a united front in the middle of attacking Stein. SMDH.
I was done with him when left the Green Party because he didn’t like their “process” and he’s been giving opportunist energy ever since he left.
Not to mention he’s been getting help from republicans to get on ballots in some states. 😡
I can't listen to West anymore. He is clearly afraid to challenge the establishment just like Bernie. Jill Stein gave him an opening to actually make a difference and he just blew it. He 's a horse's ass! Nick is going to have a field day with this joker in the rocking chair. Jimmy Dore is not correct on everything but he sure as hell has West down pat.
He's clearly bitter and unhinged old MAN.
Jimmy Dorer was partners in crime with Nick Brana (who works for RFK now) they work against the real the legit good third party candidates like Jill Stein . Jimmy Dore is the controlled opposition in the vein of Tucker Carlson.
I expect him to drop out and endorse the Dem.
Ya… cuz he is one is them
Cornel West is full of ego. Stein would not have run if there was another Green Party candidate. Stein isn’t racist. Unless West can actually tell us what racist thing she did he need not talk about it.
Ditto.....
Ditto!
Took me a while to see that but you are right
Well I can tell you that at my Green Party Chapter in Massachusetts, Jill Stein's home state, the bylaws only require equal representation on committees of men and women. Minority races are not required to be represented. During a recent discussion when a white male asked a female member if she understood her degree of white privilege, the woman denied she had ANY white privilege. The other membesr did not bother to correct her. Further, I saw no minority representation in our chapter OR other chapters. It was all old, white, upper-class liberals. An associate chapter of younger greens voted to disassociate itself because, according to them, they were not being listened to.
@@Aperture_Studio1Ajamu Baraka thinks otherwise.
I missed whats supposedly arrogant about Jill Stein?
Insinuated she's a racist too 🤦🏽♂️... The adhom character attacks are unnecessary. He's causing more harm than he's helping any coalition or movement, but doesn't have the self awareness to realize it because his ego
Spoiler alert: absolutely nothing is arrogant about her.
@@cupajoy8498 thats how I feel.
She has the audacity to be on enough ballots 🗳 to receive 270 electoral votes and win the presidency... shame on her. 🇺🇸
Cornel is taking it too personally and can't see the truth that he hasn't got a cat in hells chance of getting that many votes.
Whose arrogance? Look in a mirror, Dr. West.
Jill Stein has a better chance. I wish Cornell would support her now
It’s not realistic in a little over a 100 days
She did. She gave him every The Green had you give him.
I wouldn’t want him back. He’s done nothing but put her down cos he was too egotistical to learn. She hasn’t said a bad word against him.she is the one with integrity.
I think anybody would be better off without him, and followers, after seeing this performance. How could you ever trust him not to put his ego ahead of any party issue that did not somehow coronate him. Thanks to whoever used that word first here!
His ego won't allow it
West has lost it. Race Matters was a great book, but he missed the boat in leaving Jill Stein
I was so excited when Dr. West announced he was running! And he's squandered it!
He did not
Dr. West, Jill stein and the rest of the 3rd Parties Candidates need to have a Meeting and unite against the Duopoly’s. This would be the best plan/ discussion to take place right now.
That's what Jill was saying.
Why are they tearing each other up, they should be on the same team, whatever differences they have
The problem is that Cornell has a bigger ego than the bigger strategic cause that Jill offers.
Only one is tearing the other up.
Dr. West, this is NOT THE ANSWER. Please please please come together with Jill and Claudia. We have a true opportunity to break the duopoly once and for all but we NEED SOLIDARITY 💔
yes!!!! This so much!
Also there should be an opportunity for say "the leftist mafia" host it as well...
Even Stein knows they won't break the duopoly. It is only an issues candidacy. Wake up.
Lotta love for Cornel over the years but this is a lot of Winging and offence taking for a serious talk for unity and pressure to end the Genocide. I think we got some good secondary goals that get more reachable as soon as there's progress.
How is he going from 13 to 30-35 states?
I guess you don't know what hard work is? Grassroots baby 😂
Magic?
@keithevans7911 His campaign has no money? Everybody are not going to volunteer their time
I used to respect Cornel West
@@catcavesme too ... I think that the Ds got to him and have paid off his half a million debt.
Horrible I know but it breaks my heart cuz I REALLY thought he was an awesome person.
Dr. WEST HAS MY VOTE!
Cornell can't stop rocking back and forth. He won't debate anyone. He won't cooperate for the good of the company. At least Jill has a chance. Grasshoppers and butterflies?
.....Cornell West.... lessons on how to win friends and influence people 🤣
Thats was a Dale Carnegie Book, a rabid capitalist. Good choice of qoutes.LOL
He's identity politics run-a-muck.
He gives it a bad name.
Dr. Cornell West, you still have my vote
Cornel West is not a serious candidate, but he's right about Kamala and AIPAC.
Its only what Everybody Knows. Its safe to say and say with feeling.
She never said 1 bad thing about him
#JILLSTEIN2024 JILLSTEIN2024
He is most definitely an egomaniac.
Why does Cornel get so hyper? I watched the interview three times and she refrained to answer the question about asking someone to drop. She said Progressive should unite in discussing on how to fight the bureaucracy... Why did Dr. Cornel believe she was lying about him? When did that occur? Personally I did not see it, at least not in Dr. Stein interview.
The first question to Dr West should have been how many states does your campaign have ballot access NOW? This notion of we HOPE to be on is a non starter...You can't count your chickens before they are hatched. Without being on the ballot what's the West campaign really expect to accomplish???
demoncrats BLOCKED 2 of em!
Jill, give her a chance. She has to tread carefully. I believe she possesses the empathy to see the situation in a different light than the current president. I believe she understands it is a genocide. Stop pushing on her now. Let her get in office because YOU won't.
Right on Cornel West 👏✊✊💪
Projection and cope. What a letdown from Dr. West.
I used to like Cornell West ... until he has been running this campaign. After seeing him on various interviews, and now his unhinged response to Jill Stein's comments, I am disgusted with him. She specifically stated, "I would never ask for anyone to drop out," and was talking about UNITY of the progressive candidates. She is extremely inclusive and considerate to all races, genders, social classes, etc. I have voted Green Party every election since 1996, so I voted for Jill in both of her former campaigns. Cornell West seems to be too focused on anti-racism, minimizing the other issues. He's also just really hard to listen to. And he exposed his contradictions on a Jimmy Dore appearance. I hate to say it, but ... he really should drop out and endorse Jill Stein.
He couldn't be relied on to do anything but damage to a party he was not king of and he'd mess that up too with delusions of grandeur.
What a sleazy thing to do, brother - dropping an accusation of racism and then refusing to follow it up. What lie did she tell?
In my GP chapter a discussion of white privilege was brought up and my chapter would not address it. In addition, we have NO minority representation. LOL
@@Aperture_Studio1 I understand that's a criticism of the Greens, but it was still his obligation to elaborate on the comment in relation to Stein. Still sleazy.
@@amydalzell5801 Not sleazy, he refused to get into details because he did not want to get into a detailed criticism of the party, probably hoping to draw some votes from it. He is not the only recent high-profile candidate that has been associated with the greens who has criticized them: th-cam.com/video/ASLo9yziUfM/w-d-xo.html
@@Aperture_Studio1 Again, he can criticize the Greens all he wants. He made an accusation against Jill Stein, strongly implying racism and/or white privilege, and then left it hanging. I don't have another word for it. This seems to be the new "party line" out of the Washington think tanks.
Notice his umbrage is all about something Jill Stein didn't say. Get the picture, she is saying a united front is needed. Period. His personal hurt at the implication, which wasn't even implied, that he is a showboat and a caricature of himself is his own onus to bear. He showed himself right there. Educated fool.

Individual Respect & Respect for Others .

I love Cornell West- a precious brother - I will vote for him.
I understand where Cornell west is coming from. Why do we always have to stop our ambitions and get on board with the ambitions of others. Others have proven to us that when they get our support, we are put to the side for everyone else.
I refuse to vote red or blue, there are 3 choices: Cornel West, Jill Stein and Claudia De La Cruz. Jill and Claudia are both working with a party; Cornel is not. I'm more concerned with building a party than voting for an individual. That will affect my decision more than anything/
Voting for Jill Stein. 💚💚💚
Yeah sure. Call out the lies like we've been doing for the last several years but it ain't going to get us anywhere. We need action. Dr. West
I’m sorry to say, but it is obvious to me that Dr. West has a personal grudge against Dr Stein and is finding it extremely difficult to overcome his ego
I would vote for Cornell West.
Deep respect for Dr. Cornel West. Truth and Justice❤❤❤
This is disappointing. We live in a winner take all system. Jill Stein is right. The progressive left needs to unite and ASAP.
This man is not part of the progressive left, he is an egotist hitching a ride and he has shown he is ready to hop off and on when it suits him. He's not the first and won't be the last, they are endemic in the business. They are an old problem that needs to be faced and dealt with by the progressive left. Even more urgently now we have our precious identities to deal with.
People use too be real deep like cornel, he is telling the truth 💯 we have surface thinkers!!!
Shes so bad but yet he cant debate her on the 3rd party debates? His ego is getting out of control
I'm frustrated with Cornel West and won't back him anymore. I also won't support Jill Stein unless she recognizes the important role of black Americans in the country's history and economic power. She needs to show support for reparations too.
She does support reparations.
@@sarabsirius1223 I didn't hear her say anything about it or how the immigration problem is disproportionally devastating black communities.
Cornel, your ego appears to be bigger than the cause. Maybe we don't need you after all.
Ok so why don't you tell Stein to abandon the idea then.
Because Stein literally has more than 3x the ballot access that Cornell currently has. He had that, but he chose to leave.
@@Aperture_Studio1here is election reality.
The Greens hold certain states by virtue of the state parties keeping that access.... which will go to our democratically chosen candidate.
Cornel felt he should have been crowned like Kamala has been.
It dont work that way.
Also we keep some states by virtue of having a POTUS candidate every 4 years.
The rest we gotta work for....
But it's a WAY better start than any other left parties have.
@@HernandogreensOrg Well Jill Stein offered him the position. Sure sounded like she was offering a coronation. Now she wants him back. Double coronation. My understanding is he wanted the greens to concentrate more on racism and class and less on identity politics. I can vouch for that. My GP chapter has NO minorities in it and never speaks about class. I member of my chapter stated that Stein abused the process to get the nomination.
Thanks!
I respect Dr. Cornel West, there's no need for him to put Dr. Jill Stein on blast. He can challenge her on the issues but personal attacks are not good.
I really wanted to agree with the comments. But having watched him speak about these things I can't help but agree with him.
