Another professionally made video that features the usual Great Eastman Capture of beautiful scenery, hunting excitement and feel of being there for the viewers. As Gordon used to say "I hope you enjoy the Film", and I did. Thanks guys!
I have 23 preference points, but as a non-resident, my chances are close to slim and none after they changed the % of tags going to non-residents. I'm going to stick it out for a while and hopefully draw a WY moose tag.
If you have the ability to have a great deal of arrows I like to take it to a next level and do all that plus match spine deflection on every arrow. Easton is pretty close but some I have went through several dozen to get that kinda match quality. Good vid!
looked like a a stomach shot, what kind of follow-up did ya'll do to put it down? wish we could see the wound channels for a more educational experience
@sav300 moose lungs may be bigger but they aren't further back than any other hooved animals 😅🤣😂 behind the shoulder is 25% of the lungs at best...it was definitely guts and one lung.
It’s only sustainable if we can refrain from hunting them when we know the numbers are low although it is an experience sought out by many I think many hunters can benefit by Huntington, gather, and sharing
Wow, 20 years. Ive taken 6 or 7 moose in my career, the only one im still after is my bull elk. British Columbia was asmome for moose. One zone is any bull from aug 15 to the end of the month.
I’ve been Applying for 34 years in Washington state for a moose tag and still ha not gotten one And I have heard people that have drawn a moose tag their very first time out drawn
The wolves are a lot worse than they will admit. The hurt they put on herds is ridiculous. Grizzlies are hard on em too, and black bears. Everything is stacked against them
I know of a guy in the Kootenay region...arrows NINE ELK...NEVVVVVVVVEEEEERRR RETRIEVED ANY OF THE.... I was surprised he admitted that... BUT it is more common than one thinks
Whats the ivory deal? Im a whitetail hunter, so thats a new one for me. Is that a state agency requirement for aging the animal or something? Just curious
Great question. It can be used to age an animal, but it’s often taken as memento from a hunt as well. Ivories are often turned into jewelry, belt buckles and more.
Stop trying to gain subs on others people platforms they’ve put in the time effort and here u are trying to piggie back what’s a snake I’ll never sub to either channel just because of your shady tactics
in the beginning of the film you talk about different states losing half of the tags available, between wolves and the amount of people hunting today. it is slowly becoming a thing of the past in another 20 years i will be surprised if there is such a sport as hunting.
I think it will become harder and harder to get tags in 20 years. Bull tags will be rare and cow tags will become the standard. As far as moose sheep and goat..it ain't going to get easier! Especially for moose, unless we heavily manage wolves and g bears in core areas. -Dan
Pretty cool mixed bag hunt with different folks. I remember talking to Dan about the moose 🫎 that my brother was seeing while on a deer 🦌 hunt in Idaho. Now I see the Team Lodge that Dan refers to as a partner on the Life of a Bowhunter podcast. Pretty cool outside look.
HI IT LOOKED LIKE YOU WERE HAVING FUN AND SEEING ALOT OF ELK AND MOOSE !! I WATCH YOUR SHOW AND GET YOUR MAGAZINE . SEND ME A EMAIL FOR PART 2 . THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME TODD FROM MICHIGAN .
Nice gut shot. I mean with all that fancy gear clothes and archery gear I guess you didn't put into any forethought into how to pull off a better shot. It's not like moose haven't been hunted for thousands of years or so.
Seemed nonsensical to waste the dead deer we hit with the truck who several miles down the road started moving. We pulled down a dirt road, and waited, he slowly came out of it, and the next thing we knew he was climbing out and ran off without so much as a limp. Seemed perfectly fine, hope so anyway. Lesson For Stupid Kids 101-1...no matter how hard one perceives the impact, don't forget to check those vitals.

It would really be cool if Eastman’s would stop promoting all of these other states and drawing attention to them. Can’t throw a rock anymore without someone trying to be the next Rinella or Hush Puppy. All about that $$$.
"BEYOND THE GRID" brings brand new trailer, brand new dirt bikes, generator, and brand new side by side. Meanwhile his grandfather survived on an ice flow with nothing😅😅

I always have a wood wedge in my pack just hoping for an ivory. Great film as usual Eastmans. Happy hunting this fall.
Been putting in for the same tag since 2008 with no luck. The number of tags depletion has been challenging. Great hunt, thank you for sharing.
Yes it sure has. Unless we can manage grizzlies and more wolves in core moose areas it's not going to get any better. -Dan
Footage is mind blowing!

Reminds me of my time in Cody, Wyoming back in the mid 90’s.
Great work gentlemen awesome video 🤙🏽😎🏹by the way hitting those ivory’s from the inside out is a little easier takes only one good hit 😜
That's how I remove ivory as well..... I always wonder what a bunny hugger would say if they walked up on me whilst doing so. 😂
Like the man said, "It's the dead ones that kill ya." I'm big on the pokey eyeee test.
Great video! We are heading on our elk hunt next week and cannot wait
You get one ?
@@Alec-x5l we didn’t get one this year but our group got 3!

Literally hit mid body lol big time stomach

Top notch show! Great watching the younger generation pros. Keep it strong fellas!
Thank you sir! -Dan
Lol seeing the video of those squirrels is giving me anxiety. They always end up busting me
What am I missing why did the elk have a previous wound in the stomach??
Boy I'd love to go on a hunt with you guys.

As the old saying goes. If your gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough!!!

I'd like to see a graph of moose tags against wolf populations. Probably more going on than just that, but I'm curious.
You're 100% right. That and unchecked populations of grizzly bears make for low moose calf survival. -Dan
The wolves are a lot worse than they will admit. The hurt they put on herds is ridiculous. Grizzlies are hard on em too, and black bears. Everything is stacked against them
Give me a break. Your telling me they there not hunting private and this bull was located years before??
20:54 antlers. Sorry. They shed horns dont.
Love your electricity hunt in my old area. Have fun . Dont get eaten by the Grizzlies.

@@EastmansHuntingJournals thats interesting. Thanks for the response.
OMG I shit my pants just by watching this LOL!
I’ve started breaking ivories out with my rifle silencer. It’s pretty perfect.
Its easier to get the ivory out with just a knife 🤷♂️ but maybe thats just me
Even easier with a rubber mallet
Always worked for me too.
Why the preoccupation with an Elk tooth? DNR genetic study requirement?
That bull just came back to see who killed him, I had a deer do that once but with a boom stick instead of a stick chucker.
What's with getting the teeth?
What broadhead was stuck in the tree?

Yep the Hyde.

I'm sure all the Wolves in those states have a huge impact on the Moose & Elk & Mule Deer. Time to manage Wolves for what they are.....a nuisance
At least they identified the State.

@@EastmansHuntingJournals 4 more years and I will have enough points!
I hate how you shot the bull moose while he was turning to run. So risky to not just wait till they've stopped complete broadside!

In the ribs angling forward, bull went 200 yds and died. No regrets! -Dan

Im not a hunter, I dont have a problem with people hunting.. I just cant doit.. my question is.. what is the deal with removing teeth??
they can send it in and researchers tell them the age of the animal.
Two of their teeth are ivory. Lot of hunters keep them for a trophy.
Yes I would say the ivory teeth are just a cool momento piece of the hunt. Can make jewelry out of them and the cows have them too. -Dan
