I like to think of what would the movie be like if they didn't centre it entirely around Kang the Conqueror, and instead made him a behind-the-shadows type of character who orchestrates the events of the movie without being actively involved in what was going on
Sorta like He Who Remains, but far more sinister and evil
This version of kang: took a more thanos approach with every stacked universe, obliterating every one besides himself, to isolate his timeline, versus the other ones who either controlled timelines like he who remains or the other variants who had a more complex approach
Even HWR was involved in the war between universes. He got Alioth and used it to end the war.
The only logical way to prevent the rise of adversarial variants of Nathaniel Richards is to prevent new timelines from branching.
HWR has a heavy burden. His reasoning and choices are more justified though.

The only reason HWR appears noble is because history is written by victors and there is no one else to counter. But HWR was noble only because he had won and conquered all and hence had no adversary to be aggressive.

@@marcopineda9507 Kinda dislike the reveal since I felt kang being defeated in Ant-man lessens his threat level. Only when he was undefeated it would be scary. Similiar to HWR who allowed himself to get killed yet was able to win against loki the entire time.
For me it is 1:30, the way Kang snipes Janet out of the sky makes him feel like someone you can't even get close to.
I think this movie would have been more effective if it was released AFTER Loki Season 2. Am I the only one who thinks that Kang's debut should have had more of a build up.
Dude definitely. Imagine at the end of Loki s2 when they said there was a mishap with Kang in 616 adjacent and us just wondering what could’ve happened. The anticipation for this movie would’ve been so high and if it was written better… the potential of the MCU would be limitless 😭

Genuinely going to miss Majors. I was so excited to see him go absolutely RAW for Kang Dynasty. The story being weaved for Kang and time was so intricate and now they're going to punch the F out of it to fit a new storyline. :(
Honestly the best thing marvel could do is just recast Kang. Its still really early into his character. Majors was a really good choice but it is unfortunate of him being convicted.

After watching Loki S2, this kang really just feels more like a throw away kang just to introduce his variants…I guess it made sense to kill him off but they could have been a but more creative and had higher stakes to kill him, like sacrificing ant man or someone else
They originally were going to release this version of Kang and trap Ant-Man but changed last minute due to the plot being leaked before release

After watching Loki season 2 this all makes since Loki was the one that banished him and they been fighting a Multiverse War for Centuries at this point. Kang Is He Who Remains from the future that’s why he’s fought everyone we just haven’t seen it play out yet. The Kangs are After Loki and the control of Time because Loki found a way to beat him.
This conversation takes on a whole new meaning after the Loki season 2 finale and how he’s able to hold the timelines as He Who Remains. the circle he showed was a representation of an “ouroboros” a snake eating its own tail. The TVA timeline: he was showing how he’s still in control of the sacred timeline. He had become the ultimate protector and Janet just threw away that entire timeline of Loki. He used Loki as his power core.
In norse myths, Loki had a similar treatment for all his wrongdoing. Being tied up in a cave, with a snake constantly dripping venom on his head.
@@DarkCreed kang is the he who remains variant from Loki. Now that Loki has kept the timeline/branch open instead of letting it purge Kang/he who remains is trying to close the alternate timelines and keep the sacred which the avengers want to keep it open but aren’t a part of. The Real events aren’t on the Avengers timeline and they have no idea what implications their events had on the multiverse. Because Loki stole the tesseract it ripped a hole which is what the TVA was initially trying to apprehend him for, he unknowingly messed with the time scale and now Kang has to figure out how to close it with Loki keeping the timeline open and so he now goes after captain America and the start of the avengers. That going after his beginning while he’s holding together the end could be felt as a parallel like you said of venom dropping forever. He can watch time pass but can’t “do” anything about it.

But we saw him die and even if that was unconvincing, the Council of Kangs said he was dead with whatever magic tech they have; and Mobius also said at the end of Loki Season 2 that the Kang variant in the realm adjacent to 616 had died with a tempad evidencing it was that Kang.
Her hair is still stunningly gorgeous after so many years.
So underrated. Worth watching just for Kang alone.

That's what this represents it all comes down to LOVE. I'm not saying that he loves her. Maybe he cares about her ???. Or they ever did anything together with their time alone in the quantumania. But if you sit and think about it, we as humans do the same thing. That's what this scene represents

It was a major letdown that they killed Kang The Conqueror so easily. I would've loved to see this exact variant more in Phase 5

There is more than 1 Kang the Conqueror, yes there are weird variants of different races and such but most of the Variants are exact copies with very few differences
killing one Kang is meaningless, there are infinite variants of him who can arrive.

That was the entire point of Kang as a threat. Loki and now Ant Man showed it. Unlike Thanos, who just couldnt be matched in combat - Kang can. But most of his variants know how to travel through multiverse. Each time he is killed - another one comes back. Thanos was one and done. Kang? There is no simple solution to stopping him just by killing him. Thats why he is even a larger threat than Thanos could ever be.
That first burst of energy he did really gave me chills. Sad Marvel is steering away from this character.

What bothers me so much that the fact Janet able to put on her Wasp helmet quickly even though it wasn't really a retractable helmet like Scott, Hope and Cassie's, just a conventional helmet like Hank Pym's.
Oooh good observation. My brain tries to justify it by saying that she simply upgraded it being down there so long. Or even kang helped. They were able to rebuild that core I don’t see it being impossible to upgrade her helmet.

This movie should have had Kang winning and making a point right there why he should be feared.
However a spectator may feel about Majors personally I can't deny he did a great job here in this role. Showed a lot of promise for what might have been a return to more interesting mcu content.
Looking at him makes me wonder if he was the inspiration for the lord drakkon character in power rangers.
Imagine if Kang was the main antagonist in the 2011 Green Lantern film instead of Parallax or Hector Hammond. Would the film actually be more serious and interesting?
Absolutely. Those villains weren't handled well while Kang was the best part of this movie. His design is also much better than space turd Parallax and Hector seems to be competing with MODOK in the bobblehead competition

Ideally, going forward, DC movies will invest in their villains as much as their heroes.

Something i don’t understand. When she throws the engine core on the ground, by her facial expression, you can see the anger and somewhat rage she had towards him but she doesn’t have any reason to feel this way about him. She knew what he did but he’s done nothing to her to make her angry about him.
Basically she knew he was a threat. In the movie she saw him killing millions of people destroying whole timelines and she didn’t want to help him do that . He was going to send her back home to Hank and hope but she choose to stop him and stay down there
Jonathan Majors did an amazing job with the script he was given but my god did they fumble such a high potential villain and incredibly gifted actor. I had my concerns when they said Kang was coming to the MCU through an Antman movie but then the trailer and Loki gave me some hope jsut to crush everything once I saw this mess of a film. Why even introduce Kang if you’re not gonna set up his future goals and villainy?

@@Gadget-Walkmen Yeah the kang plotline thing is very sad. I kinda liked the hype they built up for this "major" villain, aside from quantumania, but it's probably better this way. The fact they didn't even choose to recast Kang and directly choose another main villain makes me think they didn't even planned Kang's arch that much. Stil sad tho they came up with "Kang disappeared" like that. They asking us to just forget about Kang after two series and a movie about him it's kinda awful to see. If only Majors controlled himself with that woman.
I know this is probably controversial but idc. They can’t recast this character. He plays Kang too well and the audience have already established this on screen relationship with him since Loki. Idk to recast him atp will take away the excitement for any other future projects involving Kang
Marvel better not make dr doom the main villain, they already have kang in multiple stuff, Loki, this movie, Kang dynasty, secret wars, and possibly some more before the new avengers, who knows, they might as well finish the multiverse saga with him

I think I would have preferred kang to be presented as a one off villian for this movie and then come back later as a suprise big bad. Instead of marvel hyping everyone up for him to be Thanos in every movie.

He who remains knew he was destined to die. He said he had a variant in the sacred time in the 31st century. But we saw there was already a victor timely in the same timeline in 1848 so there are 2 kang variants in the same earth just different timelines. Somebody planted young timely when he was a baby and hes destined to become he who remains.
