Not so far. If you leave by train from Colombo at about 9am,you'll get there by evening coz the train is slow but enjoy the view.

CORRECTION if you have an international Driving license you DON'T need a Srilanka driving license at all. Some lousy Cops may try to Scam you! Write down their Identy number which they MUST wear. U CAN Check All THIS with the Automobile Association srilanka. PHONE THEM.
