I made my pieces this morning, and my machine LOVES the fix. Thank you, Diane. I did not have plastic as thick as you used, so I made 3 circles from a milk carton, and used gorilla glue to hold them together :).
Thank you for this tutorial. My husband helped me do my Addi King Size last night and we will be doing my Addi Express next week. Very clear and easy to follow. My Addi turns better now than the day I tool it out of the box!
Thank you for the tutorial. I find that using a crafters scalpel or knife. works great. lay Plastic on a piece of wood or something knife will not hurt.😁
Would of been nice if you showed what it sounds like with yarn on the machine, how to take the machine apart to get to that point, and what it sounds like afterwards with yarn on.
Hi I enjoy your videos so very very much and it helped a lot but I try to put my machine back together and I forgot to mark where I took my needles out and can you make a video on how to put your needles back in if you don't remember where you took them out thank you I appreciate it so much or maybe your husband can figure it out
Have I question , I did everything u showed in the video, and I still hear the grinding sound. I also cleaned and lube it , is there and else that might help , it’s not as loud but it still grinds ... thank u
You will hear the normal gears moving, that is ok, is it skipping the gears when you are turning the handle. If it is still skipping gears and making that kind of sound, then maybe the fix inside with the aluminum is not tight enough, that would be my guess.
@@bettybooppeterson6370 test how tight the soda can fits around the gear before adding back the black piece. Test by turning the piece with your fingers like I did.
Do you grease around the aluminum shim at all? Also, I can’t find White Lithium grease but I have found a lithium LM grease2 NLGI 2, is that ok to use? It’s a caramel color.
That's a very hard plastic that you're making those discs out of. Do you think it would be easier cut out of an ice cream bucket top? Or would that not be slippery enough in use?
No because it would create too much static, something this machine tends to cause more problems with. Additionally, the fibers from salt would eventually clog up the gears using the same static electricity.
When I take the first two pieces off, the red and the black piece I have no problems. With them on it locks in panel knitting and won’t go around even when I change my switch. Please help
Hmmm, Well, it worked on not one but two of my Addis (-:. The Addi King and the Express. It will work and you will be happier with your machine after you fix this problem. Give it a try. When you take out the screws, use the correct Philips Screw drivers and press down hard when you are unscrewing the screws so the heads do not strip. I have taken the Addi King apart more than 6 times now. Gets easier each time. I took it apart to make the videos. (-:

YEAH!!!!! We crafters are INNOVATORS, when one thing does not work, we find another that works! I am so happy you fixed your machine!
a little grease on the winding shaft, under the shim would be a great minor addition the next time you clean the addi

Thank you for slowly walking us through the disassembling of the Addi. With the shims, the machine is much improved.
The CLEAR Dollar Tree place mats would work so good for this!
!!!!
I agree. Anything with a little stability and thin 👍🏽 and easy to cut.
@@dianemakes thanks for this video
I did mine with a pencil, bare down and then used a gel pen to go over the pencil mark. Worked great!!!

To cut the plastic, put painters tape down and trace on it and cut then remove
What a great idea ‼️ Thank you 👏🏽👏🏽❤️
@@dianemakes you’re welcome
Is there another video that shows the disassemble and reassembling of the Addi? That would have been helpful.
yes, here it is, th-cam.com/video/iJShAX1AKXw/w-d-xo.html
Great idea!! I will use a hole punch the right size and try this! Thank you!
Oh my goodness! Hole punch! Of course, that is a great ideas too! Thank you!
What brand of screwdrivers are you using is like they are magnetic. I see they are Philips heads. Tks Ann
My husband got them for me from Princess Auto but he can't remember the brand name. He said it cold be the store brand. I hope this helps. Diane
I have Created a file for the cricut. If anyone is interested DM me.
Hi Ronald, I'm interested, but can't work out how to DM you
Genius! One question, though. Will this effect my warranty?
Good question. I don't know the answer to that. You can find their email and ask them. Let me know what you find out. I wish you luck. Thank you.
@@dianemakes , Unfortunately, the manufacturer is in Germany . I don't think I'll be calling.

Interesting! I wonder if felt would work? Then someone could use a cutting machine (cricut, brother or silhouette ie)
It would absolutely work!! I can see it in my mind. Give it go and please let us know how it goes.

I cut a soda can in half and used that
Should I use something else or is that ok

Order white lithium grease of Amazon. I don't know if the other grease is safe for plastic, but the white lithium is plastic safe.

Lol...now ya gotta fix that wobbly table... 😆...i have a terrible wobble to my addi king. This should work for them too, right?
Im in need of help !! Idk wat screws 2 remove to get gear/handle out..i cant find a video that goes to that area..its grinding but not skipping..thx
She has a video before this showing how to take apart and reassemble the machine. Very informative
Thank you 😊
Very clever 😁👍

Did you ever get it to work right ? I'm afraid to take mine apart. I haven't even had mine a month.. the handle area is loose almost looks bent
@@taranoel7990 yes lol actually I did. It seem to work when I took all the pieces apart the put it back together. Thank you for asking.
@@MakeupJules Oh glad to know it worked out. 😀
@@taranoel7990 thank you
Try making a template on paper then tracing onto the plastic
LOL, that would be much easier than the way I did it here. I will do that next time. I am blushing.
Brilliant! Are you an Engineer? 🤓
I am a lover of crafting and I think all crafters are innovators. (-;
😇
I did this exactly and now my machine is grinding WAY WORSE than before
Oh my 😮. It sounds like the gears are loose again and slipping.
Has any1 tried this yet? Would hate 2 take my machine apart and this doesn’t work🤷🏾♀️
