  • 1-4-1 In the past 6, and still first in the West!
How do you celebrate first place and be mad at the games?
Alex, Greg, and Steve try to make it make sense.
The guys break down the very close loss to the CFL leading Montreal Alouettes, including a long look at the future of Brett Lauther. How was the return of Trevor Harris as QB1? Did he mesh with the new receivers? Was the defense the real deal?
And most importantly how did the command centre screw up this week?
In the Odds and Endzones, the guys break down Nathan Rourke's less than stellar return, Chris Jones will work for free, and we talk about the return of Chad Kelly.
Plus the preview of the upcoming road game vs the Argonauts and Piffles Picks.

I would argue that in the close game like this was shaping up to be, taking the 3 points when you are already up, ESPECIALLY when you are in "Easy" FG range between 28-40. What you risk in that game is giving Montreal a huge confidence boost by getting a stuff on the 3rd and 1. I would 100% do the same call of taking the points in that game, making it a 7 point game again. It comes down to if Lauther hits even just the 38 yard FG, this game ends at 27-20 With a Sask win. As for blame on Lauther, you can absolutely put that whole loss onto him. He is a veteran Kicker who missed 4 high-percentage kicks and then quit on trying to tackle the returner on the TD return.
The argument of "The Offence should have had more TD's" is ingoring the fact that Montreal's D has allowed the least amount of passing TD's (9) and the least amount of passing plays of 30+ (5) in the league after week 11. They also have only allowed 16 TDs in total on Offence, in comparison to Sask's 21 Offensive TDs allowed. So, Montreal defense is one that freezes opponents out of the endzone, which is why you kick the FG when you get a chance.
