It took me 3 weeks when I started doing attempts for real to get sub 40, old record was around 39:45. A few days later I broke the record and then continued to push it as far as I could which took 2 extra months. This is not a perfect run either, a low 37 is possible if everything lines up perfectly.
how did you turn on the 6th generator without it exploding? Whenever I do it, the mine attached to it always goes off and shuts it back down. I would have expected you to disarm the mine
Experience and finesse with movement. There is very little wiggle-room there. In my very early runs I did disarm the other mine too as I was not confident enough with my movement. But you pretty much jump onto the pipes in the water from grabbing the battery kicking out from the 5th gen, then start running forward and then turn right and jump diagonally towards the corner of the platform with the 6th gen. These days I actually skip de-activating the first lasermine at the 5th generator too -> th-cam.com/video/BW4itzfGxDU/w-d-xo.html (also much better video quality compared to this, and some strats are optimized more)
when you login to Arkane Outsiders tinyurl.com/2vrz666b you will get some in-game goodies which are allowed for the run (I think the speedrunning community decided this back in the days) as they are available for everyone who does so. The Ever After skinned Strelak Verso becomes available to equip when you are first time heading to Wenjie's Lab.
The pictograms at the reactor are always the same ones at the same place. Only thing that changes between playthroughs are the four clues to them and the order which are found in the book at the safe in Yehrva at Karls Bay. The pictograms always point to the same cassettes/buttons. So once you know the clues you can decode the code without even visiting the reactor. I have made a chart with one or two words from the clues and which number they point to. Like "adds color = 35" "behemoth = 11" and so on. I do the decoding during the cutscene at Karls Bay evening (around 34:20 in this video)

I then watched EVERY speedrun and wrote down the phrase with each associated code. But yeah, thanks again for taking the time to reply. Much appreciated.

Also, while I had you, had a few more questions. - Does Japanese dialogue actually make the game run faster, or is it for the "swagger" like the devs were saying in their commentary? - How are you able to pull up your Documents menu whilst in the cutscene? It would pause my game when I did it. You're the man, bro.
@@vinylvincenzo You need to be in Online mode (maybe Friends mode works too) to be able to enter journal during cutscenes. Either switch to online before Karls Bay or always run Online like I do. The language thing is a chat choice thing (EN/FR/JP) on my Twitch and something to spice things up when doing runs. Certain dialog is slightly faster but then other is slower so in the end it evens out and does not really matter. With the route and movement+speed I reach the party he will either be dancing with the group of people in the smaller room or he will be standing in the ball room at a set spot. If he is in the ball room he can be shot from the main yard through the window but this is a bit risky as it can alarm Egor on the roof to go invisible and start running away. So I usually check if he is in the ball room while running through the yard, if not - then I can shoot him from the inner balcony. If he is in the ball room there is a small window to the ball room in the same room with the inner balcony. For recognizing him elsewhere, he has the dual red machine pistols on his back.
