The first video I’ve found explaining how to remove the bumper from the clips at both sides. Need more people to include these little details in their videos👍🏻
I removed a whole bunch of screws from everywhere and still struggled...even going as far as removing most headlight screws but then couldn't get the lights out. I'm familiar with bumper attachment clips like the ones you showed in the corners but had no idea how it was fixed in there. Looks like I can have another dig at it soon. Cursed be manufacturers for making it so complicated. I plan on redesigning the whole thing once I get it off so it only takes a few screws to secure the bumper while still being mounted solidly which will include reinforcing certain parts of the bumper to remove flex in strategic areas where wind pressure can induce deflection on surfaces prone to it. Thank you for sharing. Couldn't help chuckling at the headlight washer nozzles :)
Im so glad I came across this video. Ive been unsuccessful on 2 occasions trying to figure out how to detach my front bumper from the wing on my BMW E82. Ive watch so many vids on youtube & still havent found the answer untill now. Sending you guys a big thanks all the way from the UK :) You now have a new subscriber :)
Great video, thanks for posting! I also managed to get the bumper off without a lift or taking the wheels off, its just a lot more fiddly. I didn't need to loosen the wheel arch guard, just the three bolts that attach to the bumper.
i just had to check the left headlight cleaning thing because I got some cleaning fluid loss from there. I got told that I would have to remove the front bumper for that. But now I know I don’t have to! Thanks!
I am sure you do need to take the bumper off to remove the headlight washer as you can't get to the two 8mm bolts that hold the washer nozzle in, or am I missing something, that allows you to access the two 8mm bolts/screws? There are no videos that show the removal of the headlight washers without the bumper removed on the E82 coupe
The headlight washer is a PITA. Hardest part in removing the bumper IMO. Wish they made a square that would just easily clip into the bumper. I need to find a video on how to dis engage it. Just love how you have to remember to clean your windows parked so they don't spray all over your hood. My favorite is when you accidentally engage it the night after you wash your car.
Nice video guys and not a lot of needless chatter about what your wife made you do over the weekend, what sports your kids are playing, etc. lol! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@@HelpMeDIY I have a friend who has an ‘08 128i that needs a new headlight installed. The labor here in L.A. will likely be at least $400 to do this so I’m thinking of taking this on myself. The thought of taking the entire bumper cover off a friend’s car is a bit nerve wracking but after watching your video, it doesn’t look all that hard as long as you’re methodical and are really careful with those plastic slots and tabs.
Is it absolutely necessary to raise the car to do this? I’d just as soon avoid it as I don’t have a floor jack and I don’t think these cars have a spare and jack
Curious if you noticed if the radiator support bracket is mounted to the rear of the crash bar? It appears like it may be. I’m looking to make a custom front crash bar for weight savings. Thanks

+Hunty98 that’s exactly why I made this one! Couldn’t find the details. Hope you’re a subscriber now 😉
Thanks for this vid. I was struggling getting the corners out until I saw you show the tabs and how they fit into the "hamburger" .
+Disgruntled Dip happy to help! That’s the main reason I made this video, I couldn’t find it shown anywhere else.

Thanks....for the video... already subcribe.

that is a ton of work to take a bumper off! This has me wondering if headlight sprayers are even worth it
+James Zilla I. An answer that for you. No. No they are not.
I just coded mine off.
what roll cage do you have?
Do you know if I have to take off the bumper to replace the headlights?
+Gunnar moller good question... I’m not sure. We didn’t remove the headlights so I don’t know what’s involved on that car.
