The merits of having smoke and fire detectors, etc, ....otherwise, it could've been more than a laundry box going up! I love that Aerial Ladder with those lights.
they have to be farther away from the building in case they have to use the ladder. Plus they need to take over the street at fires. This wasn't just a fire alarm. This was "smoke in the building" where a fire was happening. Probably would have been good to keep the lights on, but this is the big city. At least they risk their lives to keep us safe.
Impaired drivers are drawn to the emergency lights. They become distracted by them and end up driving into the emergency vehicle. Doesn’t matter if it’s a police car or a fire rig. It’s a well known phenomenon.
Usually they do this to not distract the fire fighters. Usually they have the engine that is at the end of the line have their back lights on. Plus that blue light and ladder going up is hard to miss lol.
Didn't know firetrucks work with their lights off. You almost never see a fire truck with its light off, I guess all the flashing lights helps put the fire out faster.
So you overfilled your vehicles with an almost ridiculous amount of lights so it could be sure they’re are noticed… just for switching all off cos is dangerous for the other drivers. Next step is to remove sirens ‘cos it feed anxiethy to people?
hide your crack pipe

Nice Ladder. My only question is why turn off all emergency lights parked in a drive lane.

Hey there’s a laundry mat clothes fire
One of the few videos I have seen where all of the trucks have shut their lights off. Is there a reason for this?
