There is a definite disconnect between the simulation data and the actual performance of the car. I don’t understand why they keep trusting the data they get because every year it is wrong. So much so that they are starting from scratch to figure out what’s going on 2 or 3 races into the season. Someone needs to lose their job.

At this point Wolff needs to step back, be the CEO, and hire a Team Principle.
James Allison, along with his *entire* team need to be put somewhere else.
They're talented, too talented to fire, but they're not "getting it" with F1, that much is now *abundantly* clear. They'd be a catch at any of the lower-tier teams, sure, but at AMG you are expected to trade blows with the best, and they can't even beat the customer teams.
Basically, to use a sports term, the GM needs to fire the coach, coaching staff, and bring in new blood, then eat the humble pie for 2 years while the team goes through rebuilding.

easy, when their engine dominated the field. they already had 2 years of engine development done before other teams even started. they had and kept a huge advantage for years.
then we got a big rule change together with a budgetcap and other teams poaching members from mercedes. it was done

F1 is such a circus as the teams, drivers, cars, sky sports F I A, Liberty media, any others affiliated with the sport. All this recent drama with red bull, Mercedes, Ferrari, etc. for the bottom line profits.
