I worked at Playland 1975-1979 and ran many of the rides you visited. 2 years in Kiddyland- one year running the mini golf on the boardwalk, the rest running rides in "the big park". I also worked on the Carousel with Larry. Thanks for this tour. Some things have changed over the years but not much.
@@TheKrystalPalace yeah I only live about 40 minutes away from it so I used to go there a lot every summer. What’s your favorite ride there? Mine is the Dragon Coaster!
Killer intro! 😁 I think one of the first Krystal Palace vlogs we ever saw was the 2021 Playland Park vlog...that was the day that we first heard of both the park, and yourself! A lot has changed since then. Absolutely agree that the grounds are well tended and beautifully sculpted....but devastated that the haunted house is no longer there 🥲 I guess it wasn't an attraction that appealed to all ages. At least we'll always have the Knoebel's haunted mansion! Love to see a flume ride incorporate dark ride elements, too, but....anything that gets me wet loses two points out of ten from the jump. 😂 The beach definitely makes for a scenic backdrop! Glad that you were able to make it out to one of your local favorites ahead of the 2023 closing. We'd love to make it out to Playland someday....hopefully before the cost of parking goes up again lol great video, KP! ✨
Yes I love Playland as some one that is a local New Yorker I love there Halloween Haunted House attractions and love going there in the spring and summer you are one of the only ones that show case this great Park. Great video.
Last time i went which was like 2012 they had a Wild Mouse ride near Catch A Wave but IDK if it's still there. Didn't see it in your video... And they had BK and the arcade near Dragon Coaster
Apparently Marvel's Jessica Jones filmed nighttime scenes there also - mostly at the ferris wheel. Thought this place looked creepily familiar 😂 - great composition & editing on your vids!
Wonderful video. I have never heard of this park. It looks like a park that would be alot of fun. I hope you do go next season so we can see the changes. Also you said about that party are you suce its a party if you're not there at the party?
I am planning my first visit to Playland in September (2024). I lived in NY all my life and, yeah, I know, never got out to Playland! I had taken my family to Adventureland on Long Island, but the past three years, the park has been getting very expensive and the food has taken quite a down turn. So I felt a change is in order for 2024. At any rate, it seems like you are a regular at Playland and I have a couple questions. How is the food and where are some good spots to eat? I am mainly interested in the hamburgers and pizza, but if there is something else you know that is good, please let me know. Also, the Catch N Air ride in your video. There is no mention of it on the Rye Playland website. The ride looks brand new and it resembles a new version of the Kangaroo ride they have a Kennywood. Do you have more information about that ride? Finally, are they in habit of closing the Dragon at the end of the season like that? I would like to go before they do that this year. Thanks! Keep up the great videos!
It wasn't very reliable and had a lot of down time so that's probably why they're taking it down. Personally I found that ride very uncomfortable and not much fun so I'm glad they're closing it permanently. Hopefully they'll replace it with something bigger and better!
Hey, I wanted to know if you have ever been to Long Island because I know you’re from New York and everything I think you should definitely check out Long Island haunted houses because I feel like we have some of the best haunted houses in the country I feel like you should definitely check out the gateway haunted Playhouse in Bellport New York I promise you you won’t be disappointed it might be a far ride from you, but I can promise you it’s totally worth it
Don’t forget Mariah Carey did the video for fantasy there. I was there a couple of months ago and it was horrible too expensive and I don’t think I’m ever going back.
What an amazing video to celebrate 29K subscribers!
Thank you so much :)

Superflight was my favorite ride. Why they taking it down? 😭
I loved it too!! Not sure why, it's sad!

Went a few weeks ago... it was awful lol. So expensive and some of the rudest staff i've ever encountered! I miss the Flying Witch!
