Lee, excellent! BTW, in addition to your 5 year review: I’ve had mine since 2018 as well and the only flaw I have is that I can’t do multi audio recording once I have completed the full midi recording. From the beginning I have had my Genos (once multi audio recording became available), the recording can’t complete without audio “hickups/distortion”, amd they happen randomly. The same happens when I playback any audio file within the genos. Bit of I just play a midi file, the audio does not have any problems. So far, nobody has been able to give a cure for that. None of the software updates fixed it. If I record directly to a DAW, I do not have this issue. another thing that is missing is the possibility to transpose the individual voices R1, R2, R3. The only way to do that is with a workaround of assigning pitch bend to a volume foot pedal.
Hi Leigh. Thanks for your great videos, so helpful. Have you done a video of importing the midi multi recording in to a DAW for further editing etc? I use Logic.
Great video. Thank you. But what if we are recording a slightly more complex song and want to record more than 8 instruments? And how to focus on only a certain part of the song, for example record some short phrase with the ninth instrument somewhere in the middle?
Then you go into step recording on an existing track where there is not an instrument that you play where you want to add the add the additional instrument and insert a program change with a new instrument and play the notes, when you’re done you add another program change event to go back to the original instrument (if there are more notes to be played by the original instrument).
Hi Leigh. Sorry to trouble you but can I ask once you jave done your Multi-Track as you did here, can you them miz it and adjust all the track levels including the style part levels. Can I just say how much I enjoy your videos. You make everying look so easy so much so I am starting to believe I might put a Genos 2 on my shopping list. Sincere thanks Leigh. Alex
Hello Leigh...I have had an Roland MC500 sequencer (don't know if you are old enough to remember that far back lol)and I was able to "step" write all my instruments. Say for instance I wanted to lay back the bass drum 1 or 2 clock pulses for feel...I could do that and then COPY that for however many bars I had in the song. Can I do that with the Genos? Also, can I step write each drum independantly for my drum track and then insert the fills I want at wherever I want them...say starting on bar 7 beat three on clock pulse 85...and then after all my drums are written for the fills insert them in the bars I want? AND can I combine tracks when I am satisfied with the BGVs and overdub (layer) them on the same track? OR should I go with another stand alone sequencer? One last question...can I insert a full song into the Genos on one track and then add Genos tracks to the song? Hope I'm clear enough...I am just wanting to know what kind of total control I have before I invest in this fantastic sounding instrument. Thank you SO much.
Incredibly i used to sell Roland MC500 - was a fabulous and at the time very expensive sequencer. What your describing is more of a synth based recording style and based on your experience, id say hook up a stand along sequencer for what your trying to achieve. Genos is an arranger keyboard, id maybe suggest a Montage M or Korg Nautilus for what your doing.
Great video on multitrack recording!! I think the GENOS is the best keyboard ever!! Got a quick question. When you go to MIXER panel, and you try to add reverb or chorus to M.PAD's there is no effect to sound even though it lets you make the adjustments. What am I missing?
@@LeighWilbraham Sorry I was not clear. Let me try again. On any of the 3 main sounds, Right 1, Right 2 and Right 3, you can click on the MIXER SCREEN and click CHOURUS/REVERB and then move the KNOB to add more Reverb or Chorus. While doing that knob twisting, if you go far right with reverb knob and listening to instrument, you can easily hear the added reverb. All good so far! NOW, if you are viewing mixer and on PANEL view (vs. STYLE, MPAD, SONG, MASTER). So, if we look at the 7 mixer strips (Style, M.Pad, Left, right1, right2, right3, songs, song b) Let's focus on M.Pad Mixer strip. It shows a Chorus Knob and a Reverb Knob. You can turn them left and right, so if you turn reverb all the way up, YOU DO NOT hear any reverb added to the Mpad sounds! So, maybe this is the wrong place to adjust reverb for 4 M.PAD sounds. So, maybe there is another way to add reverb to M.PAD's?? It seems the mixer would be the place to adjust reverb and chorus for M.PAD sounds. What am I missing ;-) Thanks Leigh!
At last a straightforward and easy to understand Tutorial on Genos multitracking. Many thanks Leigh.
Easy to follow is what I try to aim for.
Amazing mélodie, thank you so much ,leigh!😊ouaou 😊i am french 😊je vous regarde depuis MONACO. Musicalement votre. 😊🎉😊
That was very interesting, Leigh . You can basically replicate any song doing it that way.

Sadly Genos is a pain to use in a DAW. Wished it had been improved with Genos 2
GREAT VIDEO....... can i get the country and western pack for the sx900 ?
Hello Leigh, I have recorded the main track on my genos2 and the sub-track playing accordion through the mic. Do I have to mix down and if so how to?
Yes you do. There’s a section in the Manual that covers this.

Then you buy a computer and make midi recordings that way.

Hi yes you can. I’ll make a video showing genos 2 multitrack
@@LeighWilbraham Thank you so much for taking time to reply. Very much appreciated.

@@303Estates I’ve tried it tonight and don’t have that problem
I can hear the reverb. Try adding the reverb with no style playing.
@@LeighWilbraham I will try that... what version Genos software are you running...
@@303Estates the latest with superior 2.0 installed as well.
where do you get your expansion?
Hi Leigh If I join the club on a monthly basis can I cancelled when ever I want or I have to stay at least a month or a year.
You can join an leave at any time. However you can’t rejoin for 12 months if you leave
Can't find a genos keyboard for less
can you record audio via usb?
Yes you can
Tell me, and then how to disable the player button on the panel, this is a child's question, but I can't, I don't know how to turn it off.
