Okay ive got the following top 5 1 Martins 2 Oleksii 3 Wide Pavlo 4 Mitch Hooper 5 Maxime But to be fair I have mitch oleksii and pavlo all tied on points with oleksii winning on count back
Apart from Eythor (really sorry to that guy, but he's not on the same level yet) I look at every name and think "nah, no way they can be outside the top 5" Bobby might struggle with the moving events though, I can see him 9th
@bronchoped1 I was talking with the guy next to me in the audience, and I think we said "ok oleksi got that lift but doubt he can get the next jump." Maybe 4 times. Guy is deceptively strong.
@bronchoped1 then why have high pull deadlifts with flexible bars? They have different events on different kit that favor different athletes all the time. Is what it is.
@@A-A-RonDavis2470 I think your almost proving my point though, if he tanked on two events and still placed top three. Guy should never be counted out, specially when you compare his weight and height to the rest of the field.
Top 3 I agree with Loz but it will be no more than 2 points separating them... The next couple of places could be anyone... It will be whoever makes the least amount of mistakes....
Another great prediction video guys, always an interesting watch. My top 5 are Martins, Novikov, Mitch, Trey and Faires in that order, with Novikov and Pavlo putting in impressive stand out performances in individual events. There, I've said it now 😆 Am looking forward to tuning into the live stream and watching it all unfold!
I'm not even trying to predict this one because it's so damn hard! It could end a couple different ways and so I'll just stand to the side and watch how it goes
It’s a tough one to call. After listening to your views I’m starting to think with the calibre of athletes competing Martins might drop too many points on certain events to take the overall win. Can’t wait to watch it unfold.
I actually don't agree with you at all Loz on Martins and the deadlift. I genuinely think he'll smash the deadlift and be top 2-4. Looking forward to seeing it!
Deadlift - Novikov wins with Hooper/Nakonechnny close behind - both great deadlifters but never seen on elevated, so will be interesting Dumbbell - Novikov wins followed by Kearney/Licis - based on recent comps they are the next best dumbbell pressers (until Kieliszkowski returns anyway) Husafell Sandbag - Probably the hardest to call, but I'd say it's between Novikov and Faires, due to their great endurance. I guess Hooper has great endurance too with his marathon background Rogue-a-coaster - Between Licis and Faires, since they're both great at loading events and grip events Yoke and Log - Hooper to be the fastest, mainly down to his yoke speed. I'm going to say Bobby Thompson gets 2nd - 3x160 log will be easy for him, no matter how much energy he uses on the yoke Stones - Licis to win, but no idea below that
So excited for the show Top 10 1st as I’m a fan boy Licis 2nd Hooper 3rd Novikov 4th Pavlo 5th boudreault 6th Mitchell 7th Kearney 8th Thompson 9th faires 10th melsted This is my favourite show, think it should increase to 12 athletes and 8events maybe
I think you’re sleeping on Martins in the deadlift. In his last deadlift training at 18” and 1000 lbs his first rep was slow but the other three were fast. He looked like he had plenty in the tank as well afterwards.
its a tough one! Lisis, Alexi, Hooper. Top three could be a mix up. Pavlo,Trey 4th and 5th. I think Martins is the complete package, he'll beat hooper on arm over arm and stones.
I think the one thing we need to consider as well is that the 1000lb deadlift is extremely hard and I expect many athletes to tie on 1 rep. If someone like Martins fails the lift and gets zero, it'll cost him dearly. Likewise, if he gets 2 reps I expect that'll be good points.
Pavlo to win DL. Mitch and Novikov draw on reps. Novikov to win Dumbell. Licis 2nd. Hooper wins sand bag, Licis 2nd. Day 1 lead: Novikov. Mitch wins Arm over Arm. Mitch wins Yoke to Log, Licis or Novikov 2nd. Martins wins stones. Overall winner... I have no clue. Hooper or Licis I think, 2nd and 3rd will be _very_ close.
I think people are overestimating Hooper. Martins beats him on the deadlift and dumbbell. First will be a battle between novikov and martins. Hooper will be battling Trey for 3rd.
Watched Mitchs' prediction video... he's getting pretty good! Great physical athlete and he has a mind for strategy and sizing up the competition (Gee, I wonder where he gets THAT from? 🤔 lmao) Can't wait to see how his predictions compare to yours 😁
i think its gonna be a bit of a surprise for everyone im going with 1 Martins Licis 2 Mitchell Hooper 3 Pavlo Nakonechny 4 Oleksii Novikov 5 Trey Mitchell I think Pavlo wins the deadlift and is an underdog in the rogue o coaster. I also think mitch will lead going into the stones but martins will just edge him out to win
What’s so hard with this particular rogue is that there are three athletes competing who are so incredibly good at being all around strongmen (rather than being especially good at one event with the exception of Oleksii at the dumbbells of course) All three are consistent and all three seem to be resilient to cracking under pressure. All three (licis, oleksii, and Mitch) are wild cards but all three are highly likely to make podium.. The only isolated wildcard, or true wildcard is wide pavlo… The way that licis dominated in the stones even against Tom in the last rogue, and seeing Mitch in his streak of wins has me being much more cautious than before when giving oleksii the overall win.. as much as I want to 😅 Ok ok.. I’ll go 1. Licis 2. Novikov 3. Mitch
My prediction is that Aleksii will win the first two events. The 18" will be a great advantage for him since he is relatively shorter than some of these other monsters. And his patented style on the Cyr Dumbbell will be unbeatable. He'll be leading after Day 1 with Martins and Mitch charging fast from behind on Day 2. Should be very exciting. Can't wait. Thank you for the great coverage, Liz & Loz!
@bronchoped1 Well, he's certainly more athletic/faster than some of the others, but I think the boys with the long "gorilla" arms will have a distinct grip advantage. Should be exciting!
I think you are sleeping on Max. His yoke has improved tremendously. His only big weakness I see is the deadlift. I like both your top three but Max and Tre can be extremely dangerous. I agree this will be extremely close.
The events say Novikov will win, form says Hooper will win and history says Licis will win. Barring disaster, they will be the Top 3, but no idea which order - it's going to be so close. 4th-9th will probably be very close as well, as long as no one gets injured. I'm going with: 1. Novikov, 2. Licis, 3. Hooper, 4. Mitchell, 5. Nakonechnny The day 1 events are just too good for Novikov (he could win them all!) and that may just make the margin a bit too big for the others to claw back on day 2. Hooper has been the most busy and may be tired, so I've put him 3rd. Over the past year or so, Trey Mitchell has proved how good he is, so I think he can get 4th - 2 potentially very low scoring events though will eliminate the chance of podium.
Not sure about that, Martins won the last Rogue, won the Arnolds and got 2nd at WSM, (although personally I think that should've gone to Novikov) Hooper placed 8th at WSM, and has won two Giants live, which lets be honest aren't on the same level as either major title. He's had the best rookie year no doubt but I still think Martins has had a better 12 months. Obviously you do have to take into account how often Mitch has competed and still won multiple Giants lives and kept on the podium as well as at the Shaw classic. A little like Novikov in that respect. But fully prepped and peaked Martins is very dangerous.
Yeah, fair point. I was just thinking since Martins hasn't competed since WSM (and doesn't compete often), we don't have much recent "form" to go on, whereas Hooper has competed in 5 pretty big comps since then and podiumed in all of them (barely having a bad event). Easy to call Licis the favourite, based on the last few times he has competed.
@@Munter27 Three guys who when they've stuck to the big titles have absolutely dominated! Brian Shaw, Thor and Martins. Three that have done it similar whilst competing constantly are Big Z, Novikov and Mateusz.
