Havent been able to visit Cuba for a while and definitely miss it. so if you are going again anytime soon then we are JEALOUS. This is a big resort with lots to do. Being more rural new visitors are less likely to get hassled than when visiting one of the bigger towns/cities. Personally we found Santiago De Cuba much more interesting than Holguin. Walking in the countryside is much safer than in many other Caribbean islands.Love the classic cars, mainly been Chevvies that we rode in. Cannot wait to go back and new visitors might note that the Playa has a lot of repeat holiday makers so that ought to be some kind of recommendation. Cuba is not for those who seek Las Vegas type glitz but it is beautiful and the people are great.
Hi Glenn, Great Video.... Did the same trip when me and the other half went in 2015. Collected from pp in a private 55/56 BelAir. 1st stop was the train ride from a local station which went through the lovely country side. Once in Holguin went the cigar factory , cross on the hill/Hill of the cross!! pope was there a few weeks before., and then spent an hour or so Holguin central. Went for some food in the same roof top restaurant!! Small world.... Got back to pp in the late afternoon delighted that we got to see the real Cuba....In a classic car................ Happy Travels
Hi Guys nice video, looks like you had a great time. We will be going there soon. What did it cost to hire the Taxi for the day if you don't mind me asking and how did you go about reserving. looks very interesting this is something we want to do.
+Deryk Martineau We booked it through the airline tour operator at the hotel. I think it was around $300 Canadian. Included guided tour of Holguin, visited lots of landmarks, markets, had lunch at a private restaurant the Paladar and got to see the real Cuban life. Well worth it.
We've stayed in the Tainos, Varadero, 3 times but the last time the food was scandalous, it took the Germans to complain before they did anything about it, but thanks for giving us a positive feed back
Yorkshire Tyke Re the Taintos in Varadero. I liked it because of the size because I had to find a small place but a few years ago the food was not that great. I am glad that it is good now. I loved eating at the restaurant by the pool and the daily entertainment. Maybe now I can go back. I am off to Playa Pesquero next month. I hope I can find this guy.

Great thanks.
I'll check it out with with our Rep when we arrive.
Nice video! Was this shot on a GoPro?
+Yalily Lastra Thanks. Yes I used a Gopro with a gimbal. The gimbal keeps the camera steady when you walk so you don't get the jerky shaky shots.
Whats the food like in the hotel? thinking of booking for next year, Cheers
Food is great, lots of selection and tastes awseome. Cuba has come a long way in hospitality for tourists.
