Does this leave a 'wet look' finish or matt? Does it cover any mortar residue? Is it water-based or resin?

The more coats you apply, the shinier it will become. Over time, it will always 'dull down' It will cover mortar residue, yes. This is a solvent based sealer. Not water based. Samples are available for testing. Hope that helps. Nigel@Smartseal
