- Israel has carried out new strikes against Lebanon, despite a US-led call for a temporary ceasefire. A joint statement urging a 21-day truce was issued by the US, France, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and other countries, following talks on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
Top Israeli ministers have rejected calls for a cease-fire in Lebanon. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hasn't formally responded to the US-France-led proposal but has ordered the army to continue fighting the Hezbollah militant group with "full force."

Those ceasefire will enable Hezbollah to regroup & rearm. So Israel wants no ceasefire with Hezbollah.
Regroup and re-arm? Do you think it’s possible for Israel to completely defeat Hezbollah if they have not been able to fully defeat Hamas after 1 year? If not, then Hezbollah will always have an opportunity to regroup and re-arm. Therefore you are saying the war should go on indefinitely. Think about it. The only way for it to end is through a ceasefire.

The host is beating a dead horse. We already know the Lebanon Government is weak. The issue here is those with the power to bring a ceasefire -- not continually hammering on a hopeless reality. Hezbollah is the one with the power to agree or not to a ceasefire. And they've made it plain. Stop the slaughter in Gaza and they will stop.
Hezbollahs aim is the same as the Iranian Regime- to destroy Israel. It all has nothing to do with a ceasefire in Gaza.
