    What prevents damp or rot from happening to the wood underneath? :)

      If you are referring to underneath the plywood, the foundation is elevated above the ground. That gives it a bit more life when it comes to longevity and weather control. You also can get treated wood for various weather conditions. My backyard floods so I chose to elevate it, and cover it with tarps and turf.

    You could have easily built this with way less material and money I would have bought some 4 gadge wire framed all the sides in with 2x4 you know 6to8 bye 3 or 4 wide used quick Crete inside to prevent digging and easy cleaning then got some sheet metal and ran rafters across the top lay the sheet metal on it and screw it in and your done it would be sturdy built and last way way longer just a thought I did that with my dog kennels and I have two that are over 8 years old so they last only thing I’ve done to it since is add some babo shucks around the sides for shade you can get those in small or large but it works great as a wind protector and shade if your not in a shaded area my kernel is cause my yard has trees but at pints in the day it’s big shaded so that works great

      Yes the reason we built it like this was due to flooding in the back yard. But after these breedings I have now, I will invest a do a barn style. I’ll make sure to put it up when it’s complete. Also this was good for the summer but not 4 season conducive

    Great job, my only question is what will keep the dogs from pushing the kennel off of that surface? It's not weighed down in any way.

      We attached the kennels together via zip ties. Will not move at all. Soon we will be updating it to a 4 season kennel

    Great Job guys. I'm about to do something similar. How do you keep the rodents from coming to live and die underneath the kennel? I want to keep disease and sickness away...

    • @YaRaAhSOG
      @YaRaAhSOG 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is the beginning step to our final kennel once we can put more money in it. We had a few rodent run under there however we aren’t in an infestation area. The best thing I could say is have a closed off foundation and a shed type kennel. Protects from everything

    Do not use a tarp over your foundation it will trap water

    I don't get how some can wear sweaters while doing hard work like this, unless it's winter, but one dude was wearing a shirt so can't be that cold?

    Boss what is the roll of vinyl that has the stone printed? What is it called

    • @iambloodbully5568
      @iambloodbully5568  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was stone vinyl, however the dogs will rip right threw it. So I changed it and used turf instead. It’s much more comfortable for them!

      We bought everything from Home Depot. Be advised it isn’t dog resistant lol.

    Maaaaan my olde would rip that vinyl up in less than a week!
    I’m looking to put his ass outside because he slobs and the wife can’t stand it.
    Gotta look into other flooring options. Maybe concrete (trying not to Crete the yard but I might have to).
    Thanks for sharing the vid!

    How much did this whole process cost?

    • @iambloodbully5568
      @iambloodbully5568  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would say about 600 dollars due to the price of wood. And other appliances. However, it may be cheaper if you build the entire thing with 2x4 instead of using some 2x8s as well

      Of course, this is a kennel for beginners. Stop looking for something to criticize. This kennel has been up for almost a year. And a more expensive kennel for all seasons will be build. Relax
