In Drishti IAS Current News Bulletin, Atifa Qazi brings to you a summary of news events that happened last week. In this episode we have covered important current affairs topics like, The GNCT Of Delhi (Amendment) Bill 2023, The Jan Vishwas Bill, Worldcoin, Akira Ransomware, Paharis and Paddaris Community etc.
Recently, the 'Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi Amendment Bill, 2023' was introduced in the Lok Sabha. The Bill seeks to amend the 'Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991'. In this bill, it has been proposed to establish 'National Capital Civil Service Authority'. Recently the 'Registration of Birth and Death (Amendment) Bill 2023' was passed from the Lok Sabha. The Bill amends the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969. Several amendment provisions relating to registration of births and deaths have been included in the proposed bill. Recently, the Cinematograph Amendment Bill, 2023 was passed by both the Houses of the Parliament. The Bill seeks to amend the 'Cinematograph Act, 1952'. The bill also includes new age categories for films. Under this, three sub-categories i.e. UA 7+', UA 13+' and 'UA 16+' have been included in the UA category.
In other section, Recently, India's 'CERT-In' i.e. 'Computer Emergency Response Team' has issued a warning related to Akira ransomware. CERT has asked Indian users to be careful with Akira. In fact, in the past, there was a significant increase in the number of such cases in the US, in which the data of the victims was being stolen by the group working behind the ransomware. After this, ransom demands were being made from them.
