Great product. I received today and installed after work. Mine took a bit of coaxing but it’s a 2017 and I’ve almost folded the tailgate twice with firewood and a 25gal spray tank. That may have contributed to the challenging install. Shipped fast and we’ll made. I am very thankful to support a small family owned business…and MADE IN THE USA. I hope you guys do well…outstanding job!
I ordered the wrong tailgate kit. I emailed Tradinghouse Outdoors and they emailed me back quickly. Shipping on the correct unit was fast. Installed the product today. Good quality. Good company. I will probably order the floor board kit soon. Thanks Tradinghouse.
Thanks for the review and nice compliments. Glad you caught it in time and we were able to make quick adjustments to your order. Have a blessed weekend!
I purchased this product and it was the first modification that I made to my new 2021 Pioneer Deluxe, It was very easy to install. I am very happy with this mod.
Got your kit today. Well packaged and fits well. Glad you changed over to the metal inserts from the original plastic. The only improvement to this change would be to include stainless or coated fasteners to avoid any rusting. Great kit. Good work.
That's a great idea actually. It would be better to have a through-bolt design. I'll mock something up in a few days and see if I hit any snags as to why I didn't do that in the first place.
I have that design completed now. I will test the market with it first as offering it as an option, a 2.0 option we'll call it. It does require spacers and a little welding of those to the brackets and longer bolts which unfortunately increases the price by 20.00 but makes it better in my opinion. Thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks for the great video and the time to do your design work. I purchased and installed this on my P1K 5 amd am VERY Pleased!! However, I do need a bed extender that is compatible this design. FYI, I did purchase a Seizmik but can't use it as it would greatly interfere with Loading our retrievers during waterfowl season. Any chance you will be producing an extender compatible with your stiffener kit??
It is Rust-oleum anti skid truck bed coating. Pretty tuff stuff. Not quite as durable as powder coating but it can be touched up at anytime if necessary way easier.
@@tradinghouseDesignCo Thanks for the reply. My thoughts on the touch up of painted parts on all my vehicles. I am sure that alot of firewood will be going across the tailgate. Cheers.
I didn't know there was a such thing as jack nuts. I'll try those on my next install. They look like they would be better I have to say. As far as making the bracket part of the plate goes... I think the separate bracket works better. Just my opinion but it bolts all the way through the tailgate into the latch on the other side. I'm afraid I would get too much flex if I made it part of the plate. Thanks for your insight and sharing your knowledge.
I just wrapped up a tailgate plate for a Honda 1000-3 today. Those will be available in a few days. I am willing to build one for a 700 but I need to acquire a tailgate first so I can get a pattern.
@@tradinghouseDesignCo FYI Honda parts says the 700 uses the same tailgate as the 1000/5. Thanks for marketing this, I tried to find a local shop to build and sell these a year ago
@@shaunmcroberts9231 that's good to know. I would still like to try one on that machine just to check the fit before I market for those. I just released the plate for the 1000-3 seater but a customer sent me his tailgate for fitment. Thanks for your comments. Jason Paul
Thanks for a great video. I just ordered one off your link on your Trading house design site. It says its now powder coated. Does that mean it still matches the color of the bed/tail gate? Also, I have not looked hard yet but you mentioned that you would make a bed extender and possibly sell it. Are you planning on still doing that?
Thanks for the compliment! I appreciate your business. The powder coat looks the same as the previous coating. It is more durable. I haven'tcompleted the bed exten

Thank You!
I like what you have going on here
Nice job and thanks for the video!
Thanks for the nice comment!
What if you make the stiffener plate with the cable brackets so you have some bolts that go through the gate? To me that would be much more durable.

@@tradinghouseDesignCo awesome! Let me know as I may be interested in that particular setup for 23 1000-5

@@tradinghouseDesignCo awesome! I’ll definitely get my order in as soon as I can. $20 extra be worth it if it makes it more secure and solid.
When will these be back in stock for 1000-5's??
Back in stock now.
I'm 230lbs. Will it hold me?
ANy plans for a bed extender compatible with this??
i put one on my 1000-5, it does great, im 230 and it holds me
Can you make one for the pioneer 520? It needs one for sure. Looks great
Looks great man! Haven’t bought one yet but plan on it. I have a 2021 as well and that was the first thing I noticed was the weak tailgate.
It definitely helps stiffen that booger up. Congratulations on your new purchase!

Why not make the bracket part of the plate? Also consider using Jack Nuts instead of drywall anchors.

Will this fit 2021 1000-3
To the best of my knowledge, the 1000-3 has a wider tailgate. I can make one though. I just need to get ahold of a machine for fitting it up.

When will this be in stock ?
It's back in stock now. Just didn't realize it. Thanks for letting me know. I have 20 ready to go and just updated the listing. Have a great evening!
