I'm rebuilding after I had completely screwed up young while others get to enjoy travelling, getting married, and having kids. feels like I'm 5 steps behind

For me, the line : "Why is my career like a fkg hobby?" hits me so hard, working part time in retail, and studying graphic arts while dreaming my hard work on my songs on the side will get success someday, cause I dream to be a singer. We shouldn't compare ourselves to others, we are so strong to have to will to live our life even know our childhood was crap. We don't deserve to stay frozen in time.
Comparison is the thief of joy. I know stopping those thoughts is easier said than done, but try to cut these thoughts off when you're having them. Think "Stop. Everyone's lives happen on their own timeline. I am where I'm supposed to be for now, and my time will come when it's ready." Even if you don't believe these words, you need to at least rewire your brain by cutting off negative thoughts as they start going with positive affirmations. This will stop you from spiralling into fits of hopelessness and self-pity, two things that will only hinder your progress and your dreams. Love and light to you, keep at it. You'll get there someday, you just need to be patient with yourself and the universe.
