- Ran Takahashi | Monster of the Vertical Jump | Men's OQT 2023. Ran Takahashi (髙橋 藍 or たかはしらん, Takahashi Ran, born 2 September 2001) is a Japanese male volleyball player and an Olympian. He plays as an Outside Hitter for Nippon Sport Science University's club,[1] Japan men's national volleyball team and Vero Volley Monza.
On November 29, it was reported that Ran would play in the Italian Volleyball League Division 1 with Pallavolo Padova.[14] He flew to Italy on December 10 and his jersey number is 14, the same as Yūki Ishikawa's when he played with Padova.
On December 19, he debuted in the highest Italian league as a substitute in the third set against Modena Volley.[15][16]
Pallavolo Padova announced that Ran has renewed his contract with the club for Season 2022-2023.[17] He was nominated MVP of the match against Valsa Group Modena for the first time in Italian league.[18]
Vero Volley Monza revealed that they have signed with Ran Takahashi for Season 2023-2024.[19]

all volleyball players are monster of vertical jump but Ran Takahashi is extra-ordinary ,he is only 188cm, the shortest outside hitter but he can jump as high as the 198cm guy,he can even block the tallest middle blockers or the great outside hitters, amazing Ran his 188cm height is definitely not a hindrance he makes volleyball so exciting with his excellent all around volleyball skills

@@user-ge4lb2yf8d but Nishida is not an outside hitter ,they are not the same position and he can jump but not as high as Ran,anyway they are both great in their own position and i am glad they are both Japanese representing thier country, and i am a big fan of the men's volleyball team of Japan
There's a Spanish player that's 1.78m with a 3.44m vertical jump, mans legs are 1 whole metre off the ground😂

I remember him jumping so high his foot got snagged in the net and having a bad fall... Still amazing athleticism from him.
one thing i love about ran is his back row attacks. they're always so satisfying to watch imo
#RanTakahashi made a conscious effort to do better with his vertical jumps. On one if his interviews, he mentioned that he had to do it to make up for his height compared to his other foreign counterparts and he knows it will be to his benefit to master his vertical jumps. I love how he had improved when it comes to his over all skill sets. Looking forward to his season with Monza in Superlega.⭐💕

It is extraordinary to watch the guys in their master vertical jumps. They are absolutely amazing. Ran, Yuki, and Yuji jump so high that I, personally, say.... WOW! I can't imagine how they do it. Ran's are fantastic!

Ran is built different
Ran was consistent the whole OQT. A much improved block too, he got the most blocks from the Japanese team.
There's only one thing missing this OQT, his front line cross. He had a lot of those in Padova, and week 1&2 of VNL, but I haven't seen him hit those angles lately. I just miss those type of cross since it makes harder to defend him.
He finish around 56% attacking this oqt, but it could've higher if he was hitting those shots. He had no problem getting to 60-70% during week 1 and 2 of VNL which are numbers you usually see from MBs.
you`re right I haven`t seen him this OQT, maybe change of strategy the opponents must have studied how he hits last VNL...just saying 🙂

He's still doing the short serve, it's just that he's more successful on his normal jump serve this oqt.
In VNL 10/15 of his aces were short serves.
