you got legitimately good vids like in all aspects. production, camera presence & ability to translate your honest thoughts to an audience in an engaging way. like i actually care to hear what you're gonna say next. it's very clear that there's a part of you doing youtube out of genuine love & respect for it. anybody with enough perception can see you got a lot of potential, hope you can remember that when it's most needed. in regards to the mixtapes, it was never really about the lyrics, but the feeling. they provide a lot of comfort depending on the kind of life you've lived. i think that's the core of why all these years later, nothing hits the same way those mixtapes do. they're definitely not for everyone for the reason i stated, but it's exactly why they have a fanbase that'll never die and will never shrink. but even for me, it took a couple of months before i was able to truly appreciate them. they went from being something i had to really be in the mood for to something i can throw on casually whenever. the more you listen to them, the less intense they become, and the more comforting they feel. i also used to think people calling him abel was corny too but after becoming a fan i get it. his music is way too real to really just call this dude "The Weeknd", especially when it's not even a moniker he seems to care much about anymore or puts any emphasis on. and if you ever get the chance to see him perform live, you gotta take it by any means necessary. one of the most memorable experiences i've ever had. i will never forget the feeling of being in a crowd full of fans where EVERYONE is singing call out my name.
