- Join us on this trip to Walt Disney World's EPCOT for a new series, where we take a closer look at each of the pavilions in World Showcase! In today's vid we take an in depth look at the Italy Pavilion. We take a look at the food locations, gift shops, entertainment and bars within this area of the World Showcase. This pavilion didn't have as much to see but it was a very nice pavilion to take a stroll and explore around! “Where they sell masks” takes on a very different meaning in 2020 lol. Those were not the masks I was expecting!
Most of the architecture from the Italy pavilion is based off of Venice. They recreated buildings and the tower from the Piazza San Marco. The masks are sold everywhere in Venice.

Prosciutto wrapped melon is a very common Italian appetizer, so that was probably the inspiration for your pizza. It all looked great!
j cig we eat prosciutto di Parma with melon all the time in summer in France aswell. It’s so good!
Via Napoli is my favorite food in World Showcase, and favorite pizza ever! We had some neighbors that lived in Italy for a few years, and we suggested it when they went to Disney. They loved it so much, they went the morning of their flight to take some home and almost missed the plane!
I love this Epcot series! You have pointed stuff that I didnt know was there! Can't wait to be there in 2 1/2 weeks!!!!!

Mickey in Italian is Topolino and Minnie is Topolina [which my cat is named after] meaning small mouse. My by far FAV is Goofy's name in Italian which is Pippo!
The sculptures Italy show they love their sculptures in Italy especially in Rome and socially
Italy is one of my favorite countries in world showcase. It's where me and my husband had our wedding reception at last year along with many of our bridal photos!
I enjoy the "Adventures Around the World Showcase" series. We missed so much because it was so crowded when we went during Spring Break in 2017.
My wife and I watch EVERY video you guys put up and by far, you two are the best. When you visit any place, you tell it like it is and if you like it or not. Others may just walk around a place with out saying what things are. We also like to hear about you and Jen and Bandit.

We just got back from our first trip to Italy, and I had been listening to audio books to practice speaking Italian leading up to the trip. We were going to Epcot every weekend practicing our Italian with the employees and they were so sweet! lol Also those Pinocchio marionettes were everywhere in Rome!

I really love this series! For those of us that don't get to go as often as we would like, it's really nice to see an in depth tour of the world show case so we know what we want to do. I feel like these videos are showing me things I missed before because I didn't know they were there.

Looks just like a mini recreation of San Marco plaza in Venice. I love Italy. Was really excited for you to visit this pavilion.
My husband and I were there last month and we waited out a rainstorm in that mask shop. It felt really awkward being all wet and in ponchos in such a fancy shop that doesn't want you to touch anything

I have a friend who lived in Italy for a couple years and she took a photo at a place that looked exactly like the Italy Pavilion. Both my friend and I (who is also a Disney nerd) asked if she was at EPCOT and turns out no! It was Italy! So I would have to say, I find the Italy Pavilion the most accurate in EPCOT
k b Yup! Went to Disney as a kid and then vacationed to Italy as a teen. Was super shocked to see that Disney nailed the look of that exact place 100%.

As a Italian I agree. I also sent 6 months working for Disney on my college program and was a waitress at Via Napoli. Good times.
I highly recommend Tutto!! We go there for our birthday dinners every time we visit Epcot. Not a bad thing on the menu, and you have to save room for dessert!

Tim the fountain I think is meant to look like the Trevi fountain in Rome
It reminds me more of a fountain near termini station and the Roman baths ruins for a pope(?) who revolutionised the city's water system
Terry, it’s not Poseidon (he’s Greek god of the seas) it’s Neptune, for as they say, when in Rome.
I think is due to Piazza Navona fountain. Both are amazing!

I really miss when the restaurant in Italy was “Alfredo’s of Rome”. Omgggg the BEST fettuccine alfredo!

As someone who has been to both Italy, and the Epcot Italy pavilion, I'd say the theming is spot on. As others have said, the majority of the architecture is emulating Piazza San Marco in Venice, and they did a pretty good job of it.
The tiramisu at Tutto Italia is fantastic!
Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar is a great place for an afternoon break. No reservations needed, and the food and service were wonderful.

Can confirm the Italy pavilion looks EXACTLY like Venice. When I was there I was like "why have I seen this place before" and then realized I had, and it was in Epcot

I was in Italy, specifically Venice, this summer and after watching this video, it looks almost identical to St. Mark's Square. A lot of the details are exact, even down to those little puppets they sell in the stores. Every store in Venice, and other parts of Italy, sold those little puppets. This video made me really miss my travels from this summer but I am glad I have somewhere close to home that is similar! Thank you so much for your videos, they always put a smile on my face! You are such an inspiring person and I cannot wait to have a vlog of my own one day.

Enjoyed seeing the Italy pavilion. It's been about 2 years for us and can't wait to come back July of 2019. Definitely will try Via Napoli. Pizza looked amazing and I will definitely try the pruscuitto and cantaloupe pizza. Thanks for sharing .

Tim, that was a great video. I sent this to my husband, noting 5:49, so he could see the wine bar. You do a great job of helping viewers to visualize the way around the Pavilion, via interior and exterior shots.
I tend to skip Italy for food since we can readily get excellent Italian food at home (amazing restaurants and plenty of Italian friends), but it's a great place to take a break from walking and the heat, especially if you can find a bench space near the fountain! Thank you for another great tour, Tim!

Italy is really into their wine, if my mum saw the wine list, she would flip because she is really into wine and she cooks a lot of Italian food, me and my family were in Rome last year and the food was delicious

I love this series you are doing. When my daughter did the Kidcot in September, she went to all the countries and they also have out a coupon for a free popcorn at the Canada popcorn cart. She was so excited. She loves popcorn.
BTW...a gondola pilot is a gondolier.

Thought Morocco was super authentic, then Germany and then Italy. All in all, all the countries are awesome, and it's one of my favorite parks.

The prosciutto melon pizza is my all time favourite pizza. Prosciutto and melon is a common Italian appetizer. I just found out about the wine walk in Italy France and Germany I can't wait to try it when I'm there in November.

I went to Tutto on my birthday last year and it was simply amazing. Granted, our "best" Italian in the area is Olive Garden so I haven't experienced top Italian food before, but we LOVED Tutto. They sang Happy Birthday to me in Italian and the dessert was ridiculously delicious. I loved the Italy pavilion so much

Seeing a tour of the Italy pavilion makes me a little sad. There used to be the most amazing restaurant called L’ Originale
Alfredo di Roma Ristorante. The originator of that restaurant was the creator (yes, you heard correct) of Alfredo sauce. There are articles available online about him and the restaurant. Hollywood celebrities would fly to Italy during the golden age to dine at his original restaurant because the Fettuccine Alfredo (which is actually made from butter and cheese and not with cream) was so incredible. The EPCOT location even made the pasta fresh. It was the most popular restaurant at EPCOT and possibly WDW. Unfortunately this restaurant was a casualty of the advent of the Disney dining plan in 2007. The restaurant chain lives on in other cities like New York and Las Vegas. The current Italian restaurant is a glorified Olive Garden and wisely doesn't even serve Alfredo. But for those of us who who remember that amazing dish, we shed a little tear when there and then head down to Le Cellier.
